Juan Pablo Raies
Juan Pablo Raies is an Argentine rally race car driver. Raies made his World Rally Championship debut on his home event in 1992, aboard a Renault 18 GTX. He returned to participate in the same event intermittently over the course of the following decade, which culminated in tenth and eighth-placed finishes respectively in the Group N production car-based category on the 2001 and 2002 running of these events, both with the then dominant choice in the formula, of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. He piloted a World Rally Car for the first time, in his instance a Subaru Impreza, in the 2005 Rally Argentina. In the same year, he became South American Rally Champion. Raies was given a one-off chance with the Stobart VK M-Sport Ford team on the Cyprus Rally during the 2006 season, retiring on special stage five due to an electrical problem with his Ford Focus RS WRC. The FIA CODASUR Rally Championship is an international rally championship which is run by Confederacion Deportiva Automovilismo Sudamericana (CODASUR) under the auspices of the FIA and held across South America, although some events in the northernmost reaches of South America compete in the NACAM Rally Championship zone rather than Codasur. Competing rallies have generally had short and intermittent histories within the championship, although Brazil's Rally de Erechim and Uruguay's Rally del Atlantico have been in almost every championship. Rally Norway
Rally Norway is the Norwegian rally which has been part of the WRC calendar in 2007 and 2009. This rally and Rally Sweden are the only two rallies part of the WRC calendar which are mainly held on snow, with the Monte Carlo Rally also featuring snow on some years. Like the Swedish rally, its stages take place in forest tracks, although tracks in the Norwegian rally are much narrower. The rally springs from Rally Finnskog Norway with base in Kongsvinger, but the center of the event will, due to better accommodation and hospitality services, be in Hamar. The Rally Sweden ( sv, Svenska rallyt), formerly the International Swedish Rally, and later the Uddeholm Swedish Rally, is an automobile rally competition held in February in Värmland, Sweden and relocated to Umeå in 2022. First held in 1950, as a summer rally called the Rally to the Midnight Sun ( sv, Midnattssolsrallyt) with start and finish at separate locations, seventeen years later both start and finish became located in Karlstad. The main service park is located in the town of Torsby, which is actually much closer to the special stages than Karlstad. The competition is spread out over three days with the start of the first part on Friday morning and the finish on Sunday afternoon. The Munchi's Ford World Rally Team was a private team competing in the World Rally Championship. The team made its debut in the 2007 Swedish Rally. The cars are prepared and run by the Cumbria based M-Sport operation and Martin Christie is the team principal. The Ford Focus RS WRC is a car built for the Ford World Rally Team by Ford Europe and M-Sport and based on the Ford Focus Climate 2-litre production hatchback, developed to compete in the World Rally Championship. The RS stands for ''Rallye Sport'' and the WRC for ''World Rally Car'', the car's FIA specification. The Focus RS WRC was in competition from 1999 to 2010, winning 44 world rallies and two manufacturers' world titles (2006 and 2007). It was replaced by the Ford Fiesta RS WRC. A special stage (SS) is a section of closed road at a stage rallying event used for timed speed tests. Racers attempt to complete the stage in the shortest time. A race on a special stage is coordinated such that each competing racer begins after a set interval, to reduce the chance of impedance by other competitors.
