Juan Manuel Vivaldi
Juan Manuel Vivaldi (born 17 July 1979) is an Argentine field hockey goalkeeper who plays club hockey in his native country for Banco Provincia. He was a member of the men's national team from 2001 to 2021 and was the stand-in for first choice goalie Pablo Moreira at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where the South Americans finished in 11th position. Vivaldi was also on the side that ended up fifth at the 2003 Champions Trophy in Amstelveen and won the 2005 Champions Challenge tournament in Alexandria, Egypt. He was part of the Argentine team that finished in 10th position at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He played for the Argentine team that won the bronze medal at the 2014 Men's Hockey World Cup, beating England in the bronze medal playoff. Men's Pan American Cup (field Hockey)
The Men's Pan American Cup is a men's international field hockey competition organised by the Pan American Hockey Federation. The winning team becomes the champion of the Americas and qualifies for the FIH Hockey World Cup. Argentina has won the tournament four times. Canada and Cuba have both won the tournament once. The hosts together with six highest-ranked teams from the previous edition are qualified directly for the tournament, they are joined by the top team from the Men's Pan American Challenge or the top two teams if the host is already qualified. The 2014 South American Games was a multi-sport event that took place in Santiago, Chile. It was the 10th edition of the ODESUR South American Games. 2016–17 Men's FIH Hockey World League
The 2016–17 Men's FIH Hockey World League was the third edition of the men's field hockey national team league series and last season of the World League. The tournament started in April 2016 in Singapore and finished in December 2017 in Bhubaneswar, India. The Semifinals of this competition will also serve as a qualifier for the 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup as the 10/11 highest placed teams apart from the host nation and the five continental champions qualify. Men's FIH Hockey World League
The Men's FIH Hockey World League was an international field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation. The league also served as a qualifier for the 2014 and 2018 Men's Hockey World Cups and the 2016 Olympic Games. Three seasons were held in 2012–13, 2014–15 and 2016-17. It was replaced by the new Men's FIH Pro League and Hockey Series in 2018-19. Format The tournament featured four rounds. For each edition the FIH decides the number of events and teams for each round. The number of Round 1 events varied in each cycle depending on the number of participating national teams. Teams were grouped regionally, although European teams were split in several tournaments. The remaining rounds have teams selected with no regional restrictions.
