Joyuda is a quiet coastal fishing village in western Puerto Rico, located between the cities of Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, Mayagüez and Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, Cabo Rojo, known for its seafood and snorkeling and seafood restaurants. The municipalities of Puerto Rico (Spanish: ''municipios de Puerto Rico'') are the second-level administrative divisions in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Laguna Joyuda, or Albufera de Joyuda, is a natural reservoir located in the municipality of Cabo Rojo in Puerto Rico. Isla de Ratones also known as Cayo Ratones or Isla Ratones (Spanish for ''mice island'') is a small island located near the Joyuda Lagoon in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. Brown Pelican
The brown pelican (''Pelecanus occidentalis'') is a bird of the pelican family, Pelecanidae, one of three species found in the Americas and one of two that feed by diving into water. It is found on the Atlantic Coast from New Jersey to the mouth of the Amazon River, and along the Pacific Coast from British Columbia to northern Chile, including the Galapagos Islands. The nominate subspecies in its breeding plumage has a white head with a yellowish wash on the crown. The nape and neck are dark maroon–brown.
