Jovan Jovanović Zmaj
Jovan Jovanović Zmaj ( sr-cyr, Јован Јовановић Змаj, pronounced ; 24 November 1833 – 1 June 1904) was a Serbian poet. Jovanović worked as a physician; he wrote in many poetry genres, including love, lyric, patriotic, political, and youth, but he remains best known for his children's poetry. His nursery rhymes have entered the Serbian national consciousness and people sing them to their children without knowing who wrote them. Jovanović also translated the works of some of the great poets, such as Russians Lermontov and Pushkin, Germans Goethe and Heine, and the American Longfellow. Jovanović's nickname ''Zmaj'' or ''Змај'' (dragon) derives from the 3 May 1848 assembly. Jovan Jovanović (bishop)
Bishop Jovan Jovanović (1732 – 12 April 1805) was the Serbian Orthodox Bishop of Bačka before and during Karađorđe's Serbia, from 1786 to 1805. He was involved in inspiring the people in their determination to overthrow the Turkish yoke. Biography Bishop Jovan was born in Sremski Karlovci in 1732, where he finished primary and secondary school. During his schooling, he was a cadet of the Bishop of Timisoara, Vićentije Jovanović Vidak, the future Metropolitan of Sremski Karlovci. He was first a deacon at the "Upper Church" (Vavedenjska) in Karlovac. When he was revived, he was invited to the Bezdin monastery because of his reputation as a great chanter. After receiving the monastic rank in the Bezdin monastery, he was promoted to the rank of the archdeacon. Jovan Jovanović Pižon (; 3 September 1869 — 20 June 1939) was a Serbian diplomat, politician and writer who served as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Serbia), Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Serbia from 18 June 1912 to 27 August 1912. Biography He was born in Belgrade in 1869, where he finished elementary school and high school, as well as law at the Great School in 1891. Jovan "Joca" Jovanović (31 May 1940 — 3 August 2022) was a Serbian director, screenwriter, editor and film theorist. He has served in the National Assembly of Serbia since 2016, originally with the reformist It's Enough – Restart association and later with the Civic Platform.
