Journal Of Urban History
The ''Journal of Urban History'' (abbreviated ''JUH'') is a bimonthly peer-reviewed academic journal covering the field of urban studies. The current editor-in-chief is David Goldfield, who is Robert Lee Bailey Professor of History at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The journal was established in 1974 and is published by SAGE Publications in association with the Urban History Association. History The journal published its first issue in November 1974. Raymond A. Mohl served as editor-in-chief from the inaugural issue until 1977. At that point, Blaine A. Brownell was appointed as editor, and he was succeeded by David Goldfield in 1990. Mohl's first editorial noted that the journal would encompass a variety of subjects, methodologies, and interpretations of urbanity in the then-emerging field of urban history. David Goldfield
David R. Goldfield is an American historian, writer, film director, and professor. He is a long-time supporter of the Democratic Party. He is the author of sixteen books, including ''Black, White, and Southern: Race Relations and Southern Culture'' and ''Cotton Fields and Skyscrapers''. Both of these books were nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. Currently, he is the Robert Lee Bailey Professor of History at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. Education Goldfield is originally from Memphis, Tennessee, but grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He attended the University of Maryland, and earned his PhD in 1970. Career Goldfield has held his current position as Robert Lee Bailey Professor of History since 1982. It was originally developed by the Institute for Scientific Information from the Science Citation Index. English-language Journals
English is a West Germanic language of the Indo-European language family, with its earliest forms spoken by the inhabitants of early medieval England. The impact factor (IF) or journal impact factor (JIF) of an academic journal is a scientometric index calculated by Clarivate that reflects the yearly mean number of citations of articles published in the last two years in a given journal, as indexed by Clarivate's Web of Science. Scopus is Elsevier's abstract and citation database launched in 2004. Scopus covers nearly 36,377 titles (22,794 active titles and 13,583 inactive titles) from approximately 11,678 publishers, of which 34,346 are peer-reviewed journals in top-level subject fields: life sciences, social sciences, physical sciences and health sciences.
