''The Journal of Marketing Education'' is a triannual Peer review, peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes papers on marketing education. It is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and committed to ethical practices in publishing. The editor-in-chief is Donald R. Bacon (University of Denver, Boise State University). It was established in 1979 and is currently published by SAGE Publications. Education is a purposeful activity directed at achieving certain aims, such as transmitting knowledge or fostering skills and character traits. These aims may include the development of understanding, rationality, kindness, and honesty. Various researchers emphasize the role of critical thinking in order to distinguish education from indoctrination. Some theorists require that education results in an improvement of the student while others prefer a value-neutral definition of the term. The SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) indicator is a measure of the prestige of scholarly journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the prestige of the journals where the citations come from. Rationale Citations are an indicator of popularity of scientific works and can be perceived as endorsement; prestige can be understood as a combination of the number of endorsements and the prestige of the works publishing them. Scopus is Elsevier's abstract and citation database launched in 2004.
