Joude Gorani
Joude Gorani (born 1980) is a Syrian cinematographer. She graduated from La Femis (French state film school) in 2005. She has since worked in documentaries such as ''Dolls - A Woman from Damascus'' directed by Diana El Jeiroudi, premiered at IDFA and Visions du réel documentary film festival in Nyon, Switzerland, ''Black Stone'' directed by Nidal Dibs and ''Black Lines'' directed by Danish filmmaker Camilla Magid. Her graduation film was ''Before Vanishing'' about the decline of Damascus' Barada river. In fiction, Joude Gorani worked on a few shorts before she filmed feature films by Nidal Dibs, Maher Kaddo and Joud Said. Diana El Jeiroudi
Diana El Jeiroudi (a.k.a. Diana Aljeiroudi), ( ar, ديانا الجيرودي; born 1977) is a Berlin-based, Syrian independent film director and producer. El Jeiroudi’s films as director were celebrated at many festivals, including the Venice Film Festival, IDFA, DokLeipzig, Visions du Réel, CPH:DOX… among others. Her producing credits include the Sundance 2023 film ''5 Seasons of Revolution'', the Cannes Film Festival 2014 selection ''Silvered Water'', the IDFA 2013 selection ''The Mulberry House'', among others. She was the first Syrian to be a juror in Cannes Film Festival in 2014, when she was part of the first Documentary Film Award jury in the festival. International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam
The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) is the world's largest documentary film festival held annually since 1988 in Amsterdam. Over a period of twelve days, it has screened more than 300 films and sold more than 250,000 tickets. Visitors to the festival have increased from 65,000 in 2000 to 285,000 in 2018. The festival is an independent, international meeting place for audiences and professionals to see a diverse (in form, content, and cultural background) program of high-quality documentaries. IDFA selects creative and accessible documentaries, which offer new insights into society. Visions du Réel (Visions of Reality) is an internationally renowned documentary film festival held in April each year in Nyon, Switzerland. Established in 1969 as the Nyon International Documentary Film Festival, the event adopted its current name in 1995 and is the largest Swiss documentary festival. At its inception, the festival promoted Swiss films and films that were otherwise inaccessible — that is, those created in the Eastern Bloc countries behind the Iron Curtain.
