José Soriano (footballer)
José Eusebio Soriano Barco (17 April 1917 – 22 March 2011) was a Peruvian Association football, football Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper who played for the Peru national football team, Peru national team and spent most of his career in the Argentine league. He was the last surviving member of the legendary Club Atlético River Plate, River Plate team known as "la máquina" (the machine). Early life José Soriano was born on 17 April 1917 in Chiclayo, Perú. He began his playing career in 1940 with Alfonso Ugarte de Chiclín of Trujillo, Peru, Trujillo nicknamed "los diablos rojos" (the red devils). Chiclayo
Chiclayo (; qu, Chiklayu) is the principal city of the Lambayeque region in northern Peru. It is located inland from the Pacific coast and from the nation's capital, Lima. Founded by Spanish explorers as "Santa María de los Valles de Chiclayo" in the 16th century, it was declared a city on 15 April 1835 by president Felipe Santiago Salaverry. Adolfo Pedernera
Adolfo Alfredo Pedernera (15 November 1918 – 12 May 1995) was an Argentine football player and coach. Nicknamed "El Maestro" ("The Teacher"), he was widely considered to be one of the best world football players in the 1940s and one of the greatest Argentine players of all time. Pedernera was the natural conductor of both the famous River Plate team known as La Máquina ("The Machine"), with whom he won several Argentine and South American titles, and the Millonarios team called Ballet Azul ("Blue Ballet") that won the Small Club World Cup in 1953 among many others Colombian titles. Cúcuta Deportivo Fútbol Club S. A. is a professional Colombian football club based in Cúcuta, which plays in the Categoria Primera B. León Strembel is an Argentine retired football midfielder. Strembel began his career with Club Atlético Lanús in 1939. He played for the club through 1944, then he joined Racing Club de Avellaneda from 1945 to 1946. He also played for the Argentina national football team, appearing in the South American Championship 1946. Néstor Raúl "Pipo" Rossi (Buenos Aires, 10 May 1925 – 13 June 2007) was an Argentine footballer who played as a midfielder. Playing career Nicknamed "Pipo", he started his career at River Plate, playing from 1945 to 1949, and then again from 1955 to 1958, winning a total of 5 Argentine leagues.
