José Nadal Power
José Rafael Nadal Power (born December 8, 1973) is a Puerto Rican politician from the Popular Democratic Party (PPD). Nadal Power was elected to the Senate of Puerto Rico in 2012. Early years and studies José Rafael Nadal Power was born in the district of Santurce, in San Juan on December 8, 1973. He studied his elementary and secondary studies in Santurce. In 1996, Nadal Power received his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras. In 1999, he completed a Juris doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. The following year, he passed the bar exam, which allowed him to practice law in the island. That same year, he was admitted with a scholarship from the International and Iberoameric Foundation of Administration and Public Policy to study a master's degree in applied political studies in Madrid, Spain. Santurce, Puerto Rico
Santurce (, from the Basque '' Santurtzi'' which means Saint George) is a barrio or district in the municipality of San Juan. Its population in 2020 was 69,469. The 2012 Puerto Rican general elections were held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 to elect the officials of the Puerto Rican government that would serve for the next four years, most notably the Governor of Puerto Rico. A status referendum was held on the same date. The election was won by then-Senator Alejandro García Padilla (from the Popular Democratic Party), who defeated incumbent Governor Luis Fortuño (from the New Progressive Party) in a close election. Aníbal Salvador Acevedo Vilá (born 13 February 1962) is a Puerto Rican politician and lawyer. He served as the governor of Puerto Rico from 2005 to 2009. He is a Harvard University alumnus (LL.M. 1987) and a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree.
