José Mari Bakero
José María Bakero Escudero (born 11 February 1963) is a Spanish former professional footballer, and a manager. Having played mainly for Real Sociedad and Barcelona, he began his career as a forward (not being a prolific goalscorer) but was converted into an attacking midfielder, who possessed passing and scoring ability (with both his right foot and his head, the second despite his short stature) and great leadership skills. During a 17-year professional career, he amassed La Liga totals of 483 games and 139 goals, winning a total of 17 titles. A Spanish international for seven years, he represented the nation in two World Cups and one European Championship. Bakero began working as a manager in 1999. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. Aitor "Txiki" Begiristain Mujika (born 12 August 1964) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played mainly as a left winger but also as a forward, currently director of football of English club Manchester City. Jesús María Zamora Ansorena (born 1 January 1955) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Born in Rentería, Gipuzkoa, Zamora played his entire professional career with local club Real Sociedad. After a slow 1974–75 (nine games) he went on to make a further 446 La Liga appearances in the next 14 years, being an instrumental figure alongside the likes of namesake Jesús María Satrústegui. Jesús María Satrústegui Azpiroz (born 12 February 1954) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a striker. Club career Satrústegui was born in Pamplona, Navarre. However, he played his entire professional career in the Basque Country, solely representing Real Sociedad. With the team, he scored 133 La Liga goals – a club record that stood for several decades – in 297 matches, contributing solidly to their league wins in 1981 and 1982, totalling 29 goals while playing alongside the likes of namesake Jesús María Zamora. Luis Arconada
Luis Miguel Arconada Etxarri (born 26 June 1954) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He played only for Real Sociedad for nearly 20 years, and helped the club to four titles including two La Liga championships. Arconada collected 68 caps for Spain over eight years, and was part of the squads at two World Cups and two European Championships. Club career Arconada was born in San Sebastián, Gipuzkoa. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time.
