José Macías
José Prado Macías Salazar (born January 25, 1972) is a retired utility man who played in Major League Baseball for the Detroit Tigers, Montreal Expos and Chicago Cubs in all of parts of seven seasons spanning 1999–2005. Listed at 5' 10", 173 lb., Macías was a switch-hitter and threw right-handed. He was born in Panama City, Panama. He is currently the bench coach for the Guerreros de Oaxaca of the Mexican League. Career Macias was a reliable and versatile player, being able to cover several positions competently and adapt while maintaining the highest performance standards for the team. He was used mostly at third base, but also played in the middle infield and all three outfield positions. The Algodoneros de Guasave ( en, Guasave Cotton Growers) are a professional baseball team in the Mexican Pacific League based in Guasave, Sinaloa. They won the league championship in 1972. The team was purchased in April 2014 by a group of investors led by Armando Navarro. The team was moved to Guadalajara and began play in the 2014-15 season as the third incarnation of the Charros de Jalisco. The Piratas de Campeche (English: Campeche Pirates) are a professional baseball team in the Mexican League (LMB) based in Campeche, Campeche, Mexico.
