José Luis Bueno
José Luis Bueno (born 8 December 1969) is a Mexican former professional boxer and former WBC and Lineal Super Flyweight Champion. Bueno was also the trainer of former WBC Light Flyweight Champion, Adrián Hernández. Professional career In June 1987, José began his professional career losing to fellow debutant Miguel Banda. In 1991 he beat title contender Armando Salazar to win the WBC Continental Americas Super Flyweight title. WBC Super Flyweight Championship On November 13, 1993 Bueno upset Sung-Kil Moon to win the WBC and Lineal Super Flyweight title. This bout was held in Indoor Gymnasium, Pohang City, South Korea. He lost the title in a controversial decision to Hiroshi Kawashima in Japan. WBC Bantamweight Championship José lost a split decision to Wayne McCullough in The Point, Dublin, Ireland. Super bantamweight, also known as junior featherweight, is a weight class in professional boxing, contested from and up to . There were attempts by boxing promoters in the 1920s to establish this weight class, but few sanctioning organizations or state athletic commissions would recognize it. Jack Wolf won recognition as champion when he beat Joe Lynch at Madison Square Garden on September 21, 1922, but afterwards the weight division fell into disuse. The division was revived in the 1970s and the first title fight in 54 years in the division took place in 1976 when the World Boxing Council recognized Rigoberto Riasco as its champion when he defeated Waruinge Nakayama in eight rounds. Moon Sung-kil (, born July 20, 1963) is a Korean former professional boxer who competed from 1987 to 1993. He is a world champion in two weight classes, having held the WBA bantamweight title from August 1988 to July 1989 and the WBC super-flyweight title between January 1990 and November 1993. His name is also rendered Sung Kil Moon. Amateur career Moon, who compiled a purported record of 219–22 (164 KO) during his amateur career, was known as a great knockout puncher of the lighter divisions. In 1982, he won the bantamweight gold medal at the Asian Games in New Delhi, knocking out Wanchai Pongsri of Thailand with one blow in the final.
