Josslyn Victor Hay, 22nd Earl of Erroll (11 May 1901 – 24 January 1941)Cokayne et al., ''The Complete Peerage'', volume I, p.1337 was a British peer, known for the unsolved case surrounding his murder and the sensation it caused during wartime in Britain. Early life Hay was the eldest son of the diplomat Victor Hay, Lord Kilmarnock (later Earl of Erroll) and his wife Lucy, the only daughter of Sir Allan Mackenzie, 2nd Baronet. In 1911, he attended the coronation of George V and carried his grandfather's coronet. He began at Eton College in 1914 but was dismissed two years later. Although possessing one of Scotland's most distinguished titles, the earls, by this time, had no wealth, and had to develop careers to earn their living. In 1920, Hay was appointed honorary attaché at Berlin under his father, who was earlier appointed chargé d'affaires there before the arrival of Edgar Vincent, 1st Viscount D'Abernon. Josslyn Francis Pennington, 5th Baron Muncaster
Josslyn Francis Pennington, 5th Baron Muncaster, (25 December 1834 – 30 March 1917) was a British soldier and Conservative Party politician. Biography Muncaster was the third son of Lowther Augustus John Pennington, 3rd Baron Muncaster, and his wife Frances Catherine, daughter of Sir John Ramsden, 4th Baronet. On 21 January 1853, he purchased an ensigncy in the 90th Regiment of Foot. He was a captain in the Rifle Brigade and fought in the Crimean War. He was appointed a deputy lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire on 1 November 1860, and 8 August 1868 he raised the 11th (Pocklington) Yorkshire (East Riding) Rifle Volunteer Corps. In 1862 he succeeded his elder brother in the barony. As this was an Irish peerage it did not entitle him to an automatic seat in the House of Lords. Muncaster was instead elected to the House of Commons for Cumberland West in 1872, a seat he held until 1880, and later represented Egremont from 1885 to 1892. He was also a Deputy Lieutenant a ... Josslyn Island Site
The Josslyn Island Site is an archaeological site composed of a shell mound in Lee County, Florida, United States. In mid-1983, the shell mound was cleared and mapped by archaeologists from the Southwest Florida Archaeological Society, operating with funds donated by Don Randell, the owner. It was revealed to cover an area of approximately , and some parts of the mound reached a height of more than . Most of the shells in the mound are those of whelks and conchs; noticeably absent are oyster and clam shells. Although the dates of the shells are unknown, they are believed to have been deposited by Calusa The Calusa ( ) were a Native American people of Florida's southwest coast.
