Josiah Bronson
Josiah Bronson (born July 3, 1997) is an American football defensive end who is a free agent. He played college football at Washington and signed with New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2021. College career Bronson began his college career at Temple and redshirted his true freshman season after breaking his ankle in training camp. He did not play in any games as a redshirt freshman and transferred to Washington at the end of the season following the departure of Temple head coach Matt Rhule. Bronson joined the Washington Huskies as a walk-on and did not see any playing time in his first season with the team. As a redshirt junior, he played in 12 games and had 11 tackles with one tackle for loss and one sack. Bronson was awarded a scholarship during spring practice after the season. Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. Because the players on the practice squad are familiar with the team's plays and formations, the practice squad serves as a way to develop inexperienced players for promotion to the main roster. Matt Rhule
Matthew Kenneth Rhule (born January 31, 1975) is an American football coach and former player, who is the head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He was previously the head coach at Temple University, Baylor University, and for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He played as a linebacker for Penn State University. Rhule was born and raised in New York City before moving to State College, Pennsylvania, where he would later join the Penn State football team as a walk-on under coach Joe Paterno. After a four-year playing career, Rhule began his first coaching job in 1998 as a volunteer assistant for Penn State. Later that year, he received his first positional job as the linebackers coach for Albright College.
