Joshua Milton
Joshua Milton (born 14 October 1989) is a British tennis coach and former professional player. Based in San Diego, Milton has been the traveling coach of Dan Evans. As a player he was a Welsh number one and represented Wales at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Biography Born in Cardiff, Milton was a student at Stanwell School in Penarth and lived in the village of Rhoose. Tennis career Milton won eight ITF Circuit titles during his career, five in singles and three in doubles. He participated in the singles qualifying draw at the Wimbledon Championships on five occasions, twice reaching the second round. On the ATP Tour he also made several qualifying appearances, including at the 2016 Indian Wells Masters. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, Milton had a second round win over Ross Hutchins of England, before falling to number-two seed Peter Luczak at the quarter-finals stage, in three sets. The ATP Tour is a worldwide top-tier tennis tour for men organized by the Association of Tennis Professionals. The second-tier tour is the ATP Challenger Tour and the third-tier is the ITF Men's World Tennis Tour. The equivalent women's organisation is the WTA Tour. The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), currently known as Commonwealth Sport, is the international organisation responsible for the direction and control of the Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Youth Games, and is governing body of the Commonwealth Games Associations (CGA). Wales At The 2010 Commonwealth Games
Almost 175 athletes across 15 different sports competed for Wales at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India, between 3 October and 14 October 2010. In order to send a team to the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Wales needed to raise £500,000. For this the Commonwealth Games Council for Wales established a scheme called the Friends of Commonwealth Games in Wales, in which individuals and small businesses could contribute a minimum of £1000 in the four years leading up to the Commonwealth Games. The Queen's Baton Relay, Queen's Baton toured Wales, beginning in north Wales on 9 November 2009, and going on to Mid Wales, mid and west Wales on 10 November and to south Wales on 11 November. Mikhail Mikhailovich Youzhny (born 25 June 1982), nicknamed "Misha" and "Colonel" by his fans, is a Russian retired professional tennis player who was ranked inside the top 10 and was the Russian No. 1. Gerald Battrick (27 May 1947 – 26 November 1998) was a Welsh tennis player who reached as high as No. 3 in Britain (and world No. 53), winning at least 6 titles. Personal life Gerald Battrick was born on 27 May 1947 in Bridgend, Glamorgan, where his father was the Medical Officer. Tennis career Juniors Battrick won the junior titles of Great Britain, Belgium and France and represented Britain in the Davis Cup. In 1965 he won the French Open Boys' Singles. Pro tour In 1971 he won the singles title at the Dutch Open in Hilversum, defeating Australian Ross Case in the final in three straight sets, and the British Hard Court Championships in Bournemouth where he won the final against Željko Franulović in four sets.
