Joshua Guerrero
Joshua Guerrero is an American operatic tenor, focused on Italian repertoire. He appeared as Count Almaviva on a recording of Corigliano's ''The Ghosts of Versailles'', which won two Grammy Awards. His first role in Germany was Des Grieux in Puccini's ''Manon Lescaut'' at the Oper Frankfurt. Career Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, Guerrero was inspired to sing after hearing a rendition by a seminary choir of John Rutter's '' The Lord bless you and keep you''. He studied opera for two years at the University of California at Los Angeles, graduating in 2012. He was subsequently a member of the Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program of the Los Angeles Opera and of the Santa Fe Opera's Apprentice Artist Program. Teatro De La Maestranza
The Teatro de la Maestranza is an opera house located in Seville, Spain. The theatre was conceived to be one of the main cultural venues of the Seville Expo '92, and the first performance took place in 1991, shortly before the inauguration of the Universal Exposition. ''The Creation'' (german: Die Schöpfung) is an oratorio written between 1797 and 1798 by Joseph Haydn ( Hob. XXI:2), and considered by many to be one of his masterpieces. The oratorio depicts and celebrates the creation of the world as described in the Book of Genesis. The libretto was written by Gottfried van Swieten. The work is structured in three parts and scored for soprano, tenor and bass soloists, chorus and a symphonic orchestra. In parts I and II, depicting the creation, the soloists represent the archangels Raphael (bass), Uriel (tenor) and Gabriel (soprano). In part III, the bass and soprano represent Adam and Eve. Gustavo Adolfo Dudamel Ramírez (born 26 January 1981) is a Venezuelan conductor and violinist who is the music director of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Paris Opera. Early life Dudamel was born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, the son of a trombonist and a voice teacher. He studied music from an early age, becoming involved with El Sistema, the famous Venezuelan musical education program, and took up the violin at age ten. He soon began to study composition. Symphony No
A symphony is an extended musical composition in Western classical music, most often for orchestra. Although the term has had many meanings from its origins in the ancient Greek era, by the late 18th century the word had taken on the meaning common today: a work usually consisting of multiple distinct sections or movements, often four, with the first movement in sonata form.
