Joshua Fox
Joshua Fox (born 2 April 1994) is a Fijian professional basketball player for the Frankston Blues of the NBL1 South. Early life Fox was born in Suva, Fiji. As a youth, he moved to the United States, where his family settled down in California. They first lived in Los Angeles before moving north to Daly City. Fox attended Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in San Francisco and led the Fightin' Irish to four straight Central Coast Section titles. He earned second team all-league honors as a junior, before receiving first team all-league, all-metro and San Francisco Player of the Year accolades as a senior. College career As a freshman at UC Riverside in 2012–13, Fox led the Highlanders in scoring on seven occasions and finished as his team's leading rebounder in 14 games. In 28 games, he averaged 9.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. For his sophomore season, Fox transferred to the City College of San Francisco. Forward (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Basketball at the 2015 Pacific Games in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea was held at the BSP Arena and PNG Power Dome on 3–12 July 2015. Guam won the gold medal in the men's tournament, defeating Fiji by 78–61 in the final. Tahiti secured the bronze medal by beating hosts Papua New Guinea by 83–73. Fiji won the gold medal in the women's tournament, defeating American Samoa by 75–61. Tahiti beat Papua New Guinea by 62–51 to win the bronze medal. Fiji National Basketball Team
The Fijian national basketball team is the team that represents Fiji in international basketball, administered by the Fiji Amateur Basketball Federation. It is a member of FIBA Oceania. The men's team are led by New Zealand NBL player Marques Whippy and his brothers Leonard and Waymann. Their father, Paul Whippy, has previously coached the men's team. In 2007, the men's team won the gold medal at the South Pacific Games. 2019 NBL1 Season
The 2019 NBL1 season was the first season of NBL1 after the demise of the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL). The season begun on 29 March 2019 with three matches being placed and it concluded on 17 August 2019 with the grand final of both the men's and women's seasons. Background On 15 February, the name of NBL1 was decided with Basketball Victoria and the NBL deciding on the name which would formerly replace the SEABL as the premier winter league. This was mainly due to the fact that Basketball Australia decided to pull the plug on the SEABL. Forcing the Victorian teams plus the three Tassie teams into the creation of the new league. Eltham Wildcats, Knox Raiders, Ringwood Hawks and the Waverley Falcons all got promoted from the Big V. South East Australian Basketball League
The South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL) was an Australian semi-professional basketball league. The league comprised both a men's and women's competition and was run by the country's governing body, Basketball Australia. The league was one and the same with the Australian Basketball Association (ABA) from its inception in 1981 until 1993. With the inclusion of a North conference from Queensland in 1994, the history of the SEABL and ABA was split from one another for the first time. Over the years, the SEABL boasted teams from Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory. 2017 New Zealand NBL Season
The 2017 NBL season was the 36th season of the National Basketball League. For the second year in a row, the league fielded seven teams. The regular season commenced on Thursday 16 March in Invercargill with the Southland Sharks hosting the Nelson Giants at Stadium Southland. The season contained 13 weeks of regular season games followed by a Final Four weekend in June at Tauranga's ASB BayPark Arena. The seven teams played every team on three occasions to make up an 18-game round robin season. With an 18–0 record, the Wellington Saints made NBL history by becoming the first team to complete a perfect regular season. They went on to post a perfect 20–0 campaign after sweeping the Final Four and collecting their 10th NBL championship in the process. The 2016–17 BBL season was the 30th campaign of the British Basketball League since the league's establishment in 1987. The season featured 12 teams from across England and Scotland. British Basketball League
The British Basketball League (BBL) is a men's professional basketball league in Great Britain and represents the highest level of play in the countries. The league is contested by 10 teams from England and Scotland. There are no clubs however from Wales or Northern Ireland. The BBL runs three additional knockout competitions alongside the BBL Championship which are the BBL Cup, the BBL Trophy and the end-of-season BBL Play-offs. The BBL sits above the National Basketball League and the Scottish Basketball Championship which effectively form the second tier of British basketball. There is currently no automatic promotion or relegation between the English and Scottish leagues and the BBL because of the franchise system in use in the BBL although several clubs have been successful in making the step up from the EBL in recent years. The Cal State Fullerton Titans men's basketball team is the basketball team that represents California State University, Fullerton in Fullerton, California, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Big West Conference. History In 1978, the Fullerton men's basketball team, coached by Bobby Dye, made it to the Elite 8 in the 1978 NCAA Division I basketball tournament. They were considered the year's Cinderella story as a #7 seed (out of 8). The team defeated University of New Mexico at Tempe, AZ, and then defeated the University of San Francisco before losing to the University of Arkansas in regionals at Albuquerque, New Mexico.
