Josh Tenorio
Joshua "Josh" Franquez Tenorio is an American politician and businessman currently serving as the 10th Lieutenant Governor of Guam since January 7, 2019. He is the first openly gay lieutenant governor elected in the United States and is a member of the Democratic Party. Early life Tenorio is the son of the late Jesus Atoigue Tenorio, a retired telephone man, and Therese Franquez Tenorio, a retired school teacher. His father was killed by a drunk driver in 1994. He was elected to the Guam Youth Congress in 1989 at the age of 15 and served for three terms, culminating in his election as Speaker of the Guam Youth Congress in 1991. He graduated from the Guam Community College Vocational High School in 1991. He attended the University of Guam from 1991 to 1996, receiving a BA in political science and history. Alicia Limtiaco
Alicia Anne Garrido Limtiaco (born August 7, 1963) is a former United States Attorney for the Districts of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. She was sworn in on June 21, 2010, and served until March 10, 2017. She was previously Attorney General of Guam, serving from January 3, 2007, to June 21, 2010. Limtiaco also ran as a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Guam in the 2018 gubernatorial election as the running mate of senator Frank Aguon Jr, in the Democratic gubernatorial primaries. 2018 Guamanian Gubernatorial Election
The 2018 Guam gubernatorial election took place on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, to elect the Governor of Guam. Incumbent Republican Governor Eddie Baza Calvo was ineligible for re-election, after his win in 2014, since Guam does not allow governors more than two consecutive terms. The Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Guam are elected on the same ticket. Five candidates officially declared their bids. After the August 25 primaries, the Republican party nominated Lieutenant Governor Ray Tenorio, while the Democratic party nominated former territorial senator Lou Leon Guerrero. Democratic primary second-placer Frank Aguon Jr. initiated a write-in campaign in hopes of becoming Guam's first write-in elected governor. The ''Pacific Daily News'', formerly ''Guam Daily News'', is a morning edition newspaper based in Hagåtña, in the United States territory of Guam. It is owned by Kaleo Moylan and is published seven days a week. History ''Guam Daily News'' began as a newspaper of the United States Navy, published under various titles.
