Josh Phillips (musician)
Josh Phillips (born 19 December 1962, Rochester, Kent, England) is a rock keyboardist and composer. He first played Hammond organ with Procol Harum in 1993 and was the band's organist from 2004 until they disbanded in 2022, both times replacing the bands original organist Matthew Fisher. He began his career at sixteen playing organ on the soundtrack to ''Quadrophenia'', and he later appeared in the film with his band Cross Section. From 1983 to 1984 he was the keyboardist for Diamond Head. He has written for and/or performed with a wide range of musicians, including Big Country, Leo Sayer, Pete Townshend, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Kenney Jones, Starlite Campbell Band, Ronan Keating, Alisha's Attic, Heatwave, Midge Ure, Eric Clapton and Paul McCartney. Yamaha Motif
The Yamaha Motif is a series of music workstation synthesizers, first released by Yamaha Corporation in August 2001. The Motif replaced the EX series in Yamaha's line-up and was also based on the early Yamaha S series. Other workstations in the same class are the Korg Kronos and the Roland Fantom G. The series' successor is Yamaha Montage. Products MOTIF Classic Original MOTIF series, now called "MOTIF Classic", were released in four variants in 2001: The balanced hammer effect action is the same action found on Yamaha S90 series keyboards. Kenney Jones
Kenneth Thomas "Kenney" Jones (born 16 September 1948) is an English drummer best known for his work in the groups Small Faces, Faces, and the Who. Jones was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 as a member of Small Faces/Faces. Biography Early life Jones was born in Whitechapel, London, England. Small Faces to the Faces Having previously been in a band with Ronnie Lane, Jones was one of the founding members of the English rock group Small Faces. Active from 1965 to 1969, Small Faces were part of the Mod trend of the 1960s. Their hits included " All or Nothing", "Sha-La-La-La-Lee", "Itchycoo Park" and "Tin Soldier". In 2007, Small Faces were honoured by Westminster Council with a commemorative plaque placed at what was Don Arden's offices in Carnaby Street, the band's "spiritual home". Andrew Brel is a UK author whose work includes ''The Emergency Bouzouki Player'' and ''One Day in Paris'' and a professional musician for over forty years. He has released 12 albums of meditation music since 2001. Early life Brel was born to Greek parents in the South African suburb of Bryanston, one of Johannesburg's affluent whites-only areas in 1960. The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) () is an American not-for-profit Performance rights organisation, performance-rights organization (PRO) that collectively licenses the public performance rights of its members' musical works to venues, broadcasters, and digital streaming services (music stores). ASCAP collects licensing fees from users of music created by ASCAP members, then distributes them back to its members as royalties. In effect, the arrangement is the product of a compromise: when a song is played, the user does not have to pay the copyright holder directly, nor does the music creator have to bill a radio station for use of a song. ''Dancing with the Stars'' is the name of various international television series based on the format of the British TV series '' Strictly Come Dancing'', which is distributed by BBC Studios, the commercial arm of the BBC. Take Me Out (UK Game Show)
''Take Me Out'' was a dating game show that was presented by comedian Paddy McGuinness. Based on the Australian show ''Taken Out'', it first aired on ITV in the United Kingdom and simulcast on TV3 in the Republic of Ireland on 2 January 2010. An unscreened pilot episode was made for Channel 4 in 2009, but it was ITV who picked it up for a series. The show was produced by Thames (formerly Talkback Thames). On 10 February 2020, ITV announced that the show was axed after eleven series. The first series was recorded at Granada Studios in Manchester, but all series thereafter were recorded at The Maidstone Studios in Maidstone, Kent, as it offered increased space and capacity for audience members. Midge Ure
James Ure (born 10 October 1953) is a Scottish musician, singer-songwriter and record producer. His stage name, Midge, is a phonetic reversal of Jim, the diminutive form of his actual name. Ure enjoyed particular success in the 1970s and 1980s in bands including Slik, Thin Lizzy, Rich Kids and Visage, and as the frontman of Ultravox. Heatwave is a Dayton, Ohio based funk/disco band formed in 1975.
