Josh Lalor
Joshua Kendall Lalor (born 2 November 1987) is an Australian cricketer who plays for New South Wales and Melbourne Renegades. Lalor, who has Aboriginal Australian ancestry, was born in Mount Druitt, New South Wales. He is a marketing graduate of the University of Western Sydney. Playing career Lalor made his debut for New South Wales in a List A match on 20 November 2011, making his first-class debut five days later. Mount Druitt, New South Wales
Mount Druitt is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Blacktown, and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region. There are numerous encompassing, smaller suburbs nearby including Bidwill, Blackett, Dharruk, Emerton, Hebersham, Lethbridge Park, Minchinbury, Shalvey, Tregear, Whalan, and Willmot. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. 2018–19 Big Bash League Season
The 2018–19 Big Bash League season or BBL, 08 was the eighth season of the KFC Big Bash League, the professional men's Twenty20 domestic cricket competition in Australia. The tournament started on 19 December 2018. Adelaide Strikers were the defending champions. The competition was extended to a full home and away season for the first time, with each team to play each other twice at both a home venue and away venue. This consists of 56 regular season matches, two semi-final fixtures and the final. For this season of the tournament, the toss (cricket), toss was replaced by a bat flip, with "roofs and flats" used instead of heads or tails. The season saw Cameron Bancroft's return to professional cricket, following his involvement in the 2018 Australian ball-tampering scandal, ball-tampering scandal in March 2018. The Big Bash League (known as the KFC Big Bash League for sponsorship reasons, often abbreviated to BBL or Big Bash) is an Australian professional club Twenty20 cricket league, which was established in 2011 by Cricket Australia. The Big Bash League replaced the previous competition, the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash, and features eight city-based franchises instead of the six state teams which had participated previously. The competition has been sponsored by fast food-chicken outlet KFC since its inception. It is one of the two T20 cricket leagues, alongside the Indian Premier League, to feature amongst the List of sports attendance figures#Top 10 leagues in average attendance, top ten domestic sport leagues in average attendance.
