Josh Jackson (rugby League)
Josh Jackson (born 8 January 1991) is a former Australian professional rugby league footballer who played as a forward and was the captain of the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in the NRL. At representative level he has played for NSW Country, New South Wales in the State of Origin series, and Australia. Background Jackson was born in Gulgong, New South Wales, Australia. He played his junior football for the Gulgong Bull Terriers and Mudgee Dragons. In 2007 his family moved to Newcastle, New South Wales. In Newcastle, Jackson played for the Valentine-Eleebana Red Devils and Lakes United Seagulls. In 2009, he was signed by the Newcastle Knights. He played for the Knights' S. G. Ball Cup team. Gulgong
Gulgong is a 19th-century gold rush town in the Central Tablelands and the wider Central West regions of the Australian state of New South Wales. The town is situated within the Mid-Western Regional Council local government area. It is located about north west of Sydney, and about 30 km north of Mudgee along the Castlereagh Highway. City New South Wales Rugby League Team
The Sydney Rugby League team, known as the City Rugby League team, or Combined Sydney, or Sydney Firsts, or Sydney Capitals, is a representative rugby league team. From 2021, the men's team is to consist of players selected from the New South Wales Rugby League Ron Massey Cup competition to play against a combined team selected from Country, New South Wales competitions. The women's team is selected on a region of origin basis from the NSWRL Women's Premiership. 2022 NRL Season
The 2022 NRL season is the 115th season of professional rugby league in Australia and the 25th season run by the National Rugby League. Teams The lineup of teams remained unchanged for the 16th consecutive year. This became the second longest stretch of time (after 1947-1966 - 20 seasons) of a continuous line-up of teams in competition history (overtaking 1967-1981 - 15 seasons). Pre-season Pre-season matches were played between 12 February and 28 February 2022, before a 10-day lead up until the beginning of the regular season. It featured nineteen matches across three weekends, including the 2022 All Stars match, which was won by the Māori All Stars 16 – 10, and the annual Charity Shield match between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and St George Illawarra Dragons, which the Dragons won 16–10. The 2014 NRL Grand Final was the concluding and premiership-deciding match of the 2014 NRL season.
