Josh Doan
Joshua Thomas Doan (born February 1, 2002) is an American professional ice hockey right winger currently playing for the Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Coyotes selected Doan with the 37th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. He is the son of Coyotes franchise scoring leader Shane Doan. Playing career While growing up in Arizona, Doan played in the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes program. The Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League (USHL) selected Doan with the 95th overall pick of the 2018 USHL Futures Draft. Doan played one more year with the Jr. Coyotes before joining the Steel for the 2019–20 season. He tied for 16th on the team with 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 45 games and was passed over by all 31 National Hockey League (NHL) teams in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Tucson Roadrunners
The Tucson Roadrunners are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL) that began play for the 2016–17 season. Based in Tucson, Arizona, and affiliated with the National Hockey League's Arizona Coyotes, the team plays its home games at the Tucson Convention Center. Arizona State Sun Devils Men's Ice Hockey
The Arizona State Sun Devils men's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team that represents Arizona State University. It plays its home games at Mullett Arena in Tempe. The Sun Devils initially competed in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). Since the 2015–16 season, it has competed as an independent in NCAA Division I—one of only three teams to do so. Arizona State also maintains both WCHL Club Level teams with the WCHL D-1 Sun Devils, and the PAC-8 D-2 Sun Devils, respectively. In ice hockey, point has three contemporary meanings. Personal stat A point is awarded to a player for each goal scored or assist earned. The total number of goals plus assists equals total points. The Art Ross Trophy is awarded to the National Hockey League (NHL) player who leads the league in scoring points at the end of the regular season. Team stat Points are also awarded to assess standings (or rankings). Historically, teams were awarded two points for each win, one point for each tie and no points for a loss. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The assists will be awarded in the order of play, with the last player to pass the puck to the goal scorer getting the primary assist and the player who passed it to the primary assister getting the secondary assist. Players who gain an assist will get one point added to their player statistics. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal). Typically, a player on the team attempting to score shoots the puck with their stick towards the goal net opening, and a player on the opposing team called a goaltender tries to block the shot to prevent a goal from being scored against their team. 2022–23 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began on October 1, 2022, and concluded with the NCAA championship on April 8, 2023. This was the 75th season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held, and was US college hockey's 129th year overall. Conference realignment On August 31, 2021, Alaska Anchorage announced that the $3 million fundraising goal had been reached and the team would return for the 2022–23 season. On February 23, Lindenwood University announced that they would be promoting their athletic program to Division I for the 2022–23 academic year. NHL Central Scouting Bureau
The NHL Central Scouting Services (CSS) is a department within the National Hockey League that ranks prospects for the NHL Entry Draft at specific times during the hockey season. Players are ranked based on how well they will translate to the professional game in the National Hockey League. It was founded by hockey executive Jack Button in 1975 to establish a centralized database of NHL prospects. Button served as the director until 1979. Its current director is Dan Marr. The Department consists of staff at the NHL Offices in Toronto, along with eight full-time scouts, and fifteen part-time scouts throughout North America. Matthew Coronato (born November 14, 2002) is an American professional ice hockey winger for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). Coronato was drafted by the Flames with the 13th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Early life Coronato was born on November 14, 2002, in Huntington, New York to parents Samantha and Richard. He was born into an athletic family as his father played college lacrosse at the College of the Holy Cross and his younger brother Jake also played hockey. Sean Farrell (born November 2, 2001) is an American professional ice hockey left wing for the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL). Farrell was drafted 124th overall by the Canadiens in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Amateur After two years with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program, Farrell began playing in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Chicago Steel. He was originally meant to begin his collegiate career with the Harvard Crimson during the 2020–21 season, but following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ivy League teams opted not to participate in the athletic season.
