Josh Buhl
Josh Buhl (born May 4, 1981) is a former American football linebacker. He played collegiately at Kansas State and had a brief professional career. High school Buhl attended North Mesquite High School in Mesquite, Texas and was a high school teammate of Bryan Hickman. College career At K-State, Buhl teamed up with fellow Texas high school linebackers, Terry Pierce and Bryan Hickman to make a formidable linebacking crew for the Wildcats. Buhl finished his career at Kansas State as part of the conference championship team beating #1 Oklahoma and a berth in the Fiesta Bowl and first team All Big 12. He was also named a Sporting News All-American, and totaled 184 tackles, 109 unassisted, in 2003. Professional career He was undrafted in the 2004 NFL Draft but signed with the Cleveland Browns. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). Bryan Hickman
Bryan Hickman (January 3, 1981 – January 3, 2012) was an American football linebacker. He played collegiately at Kansas State and had a brief professional career before suffering a career ending knee injury. High school Hickman attended North Mesquite High School in Mesquite, Texas and was teammates with another Kansas State linebacker, Josh Buhl. College career At Kansas State, Hickman teamed up with fellow Texas high school linebackers, Terry Pierce and Josh Buhl to make a formidable linebacking crew for the Wildcats. In a home game against Iowa State in 2002, he recorded double-digit tackles, a tackle for loss, an interception and a forced fumble. The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional American football team based in Jacksonville, Florida. The 2004 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 24–25, 2004 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. No teams chose to claim any players in the supplemental draft that year. The Fiesta Bowl is an American college football bowl game played annually in the Phoenix metropolitan area. From its beginning in 1971 until 2006, the game was hosted at the Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. Since 2007, the game has been played at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Terry Pierce
Terry Pierce (born June 21, 1981 in Fort Worth, Texas) is a former American football linebacker of the National Football League. He was originally drafted by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played college football at Kansas State. High school Pierce attended Western Hills High School in Benbrook, Texas. College career Pierce first came to Kansas State University and was redshirted. He played in all but one game in 2000, including the Cotton Bowl Classic. After racking up 38 tackles (six for a loss) and three pass break-ups, he was named the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year.
