Josephine Elechi
Chief (Mrs.) Josephine Elechi, wife of the Former Governor of Ebonyi State. Early life, education and personal life Elechi was born in Ezza Ofu Village in Ezza Inyimagu Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State in 1948 to a family of . Elechi attended Covenant Primary School in Afikpo from 1954–1961. She then moved to Holy Child Secondary School in Sharon from 1962–1966. Elechi took a break from school to work at Nigeria Construction and Furniture Company from 1973–1975. Finally, she attended Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT) from 1993-2000 earning a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. After obtaining her degree, she continued to work until her marriage. Elechi is married to Chief Martin Elechi and has four children, three boys and one girl. Elechi is a member of the Izzi people, Izzi ethnic group. Ebonyi State ( ig, Ȯra Ebonyi) is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered to the north and northeast by Benue State, Enugu State to the west, Cross River State to the east and southeast, and Abia State to the southwest. Named for the Abonyi (Aboine) River—a large part of which is in the state's south—Ebonyi State was formed from parts of Abia and Enugu state in 1996 and has its capital as Abakaliki. Ehugbo often referred to as Afikpo, is the second largest urban area in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. It is the headquarters of the Afikpo North Local Government Area. Martin Elechi
Martin Elechi is a Nigerian economist and politician. He served as the Governor of Ebonyi State from 2007 to 2015. He ran in the 2007 Nigerian general election on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) ticket and assumed the position on May 29, 2007, succeeding Sam Egwu. Elechi ran successfully for re-election on 26 April 2011. In 2017 Elechi left People Democratic Party (PDP) for All Progressives Congress (APC).
