Joseph Thompson (actor)
Joseph Thompson is a British theatre, screen and voice actor best known for playing Dr. Paul Browning in the British Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks''. He studied at the University of Bristol and trained as an actor at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. Career He made his 2005 theatre debut in ''Romeo and Juliet'' at the Royal Exchange, Manchester alongside Andrew Garfield and Gugu Mbatha-Raw and has worked extensively on stage. Notable productions include ''The Voysey Inheritance'' ''Fram'' and ''The Cherry Orchard'' at the National Theatre, ''Petrol Jesus Nightmare #5'' at The Traverse Theatre and ''Earthquakes in London'' for Headlong. Doctor Browning
Paul Browning (commonly known as Doctor Browning) is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'', played by Joseph Thompson. He made his debut screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 23 January 2012 and was introduced by Emma Smithwick. Doctor Browning was introduced as part of a storyline featuring Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) in which he "shows her the benefits of 'selling her services'". Doctor Browning and Mercedes later begin a relationship, which Smithwick called a "union of the dark soul mates". Thompson said that Doctor Browning and Mercedes "are excited by how dangerous the other is" and are "kindred spirits" who have an "undeniable connection between them". When Lynsey Nolan (Karen Hassan) is murdered in a whodunnit plot Doctor Browning becomes a suspect before it is later revealed he had killed Lynsey. Elementary (TV Series)
''Elementary'' is an American procedural drama television series that presented a contemporary update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's character Sherlock Holmes. It was created by Robert Doherty and starred Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson. The series premiered on CBS on September 27, 2012. It was set and filmed primarily in New York City. Jennifer Metcalfe
Jennifer Joanne Metcalfe (born 4 September 1983) is an English actress. She is best known for her roles of Jade Nicholls in Emmerdale and Mercedes McQueen in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'', which she has appeared in since 2006. Her portrayal of the character has led to her reprising the role in the programme's spin-off series ''Hollyoaks Later'' between 2008 and 2020.
