Joseph Stanley Kimmitt
Joseph Stanley Kimmitt (April 15, 1918 – December 7, 2004) was the Secretary of the United States Senate and Secretary for the Majority from 1977 to 1981. Kimmitt also served in World War II and the Korean War as a United States Army lieutenant colonel. Kimmitt commanded a unit in the 8th Infantry Division in Germany from 1962 to 1964 before retiring from the Army as a colonel. He went to work under Mike Mansfield, U.S. Senator from Montana, before becoming Secretary. Upon leaving the Senate, Kimmitt then worked on the APACHE (Attack Helicopter) program. Kimmitt later founded Kimmitt, Senter, Coates, & Weinfurter, Inc. (KSC&W), a Washington, D.C. lobbying firm. Stan Kimmitt died in 2004. Joseph went to the University of Montana. Rodovid is a free online collaborative family tree portal. Originally a Ukrainian project, as of 2012 it had active communities in 25 languages. It provides a web service built using MediaWiki and its own Rodovid Engine software to help store and visualize family relationships. About the project Rodovid was founded in September 2005 by a group of developers and genealogy enthusiasts in Kyiv, Ukraine. The name comes from the Ukrainian word '' rodovid'', meaning "lineage" or "genealogy". As of January 2019, Rodovid had over 1,055,000 total records for individuals across all languages, including over 590,000 in Ukrainian and Russian. Some sources claim that it the second largest free genealogy service online, and the largest in any language other than English. However, the Roglo database seems much larger. Robert Michael Kimmitt (born December 19, 1947) was United States Deputy Secretary of the Treasury under President George W. Bush. He was nominated by President Bush on June 29, 2005. The United States Senate unanimously confirmed him on July 29, 2005, and he was sworn into office on August 16, 2005. Kimmitt served through the end of the Bush administration, leaving office on January 20, 2009.
