Joseph Musiol
Joseph Musiol ( pl, Józef Musioł; born 22 June 1865 in Mikołów) was a Silesian politician. He served as secretary of the Catholic Trade Union,Dariusz Jerczyński, "Józef Musioł (Joseph Musiol)", in: ''Orędownicy niepodległości Śląska'', Zabrze: 2005, page 144"Joseph Musiol", in: ''Handbuch für den Preussischen Landtag. He was also a member of the German Catholic Centre Party and a member of the leadership of the Catholic People’s Party of Upper Silesia, an autonomic division of the Centre Party. Musiol served as a deputy in the Prussian Parliament from 26 January 1919 to 22 November 1922 and argued for the independence of Upper Silesia as a multilingual but unified state like Switzerland. Mikołów
Mikołów (german: Nikolai, szl, Mikołōw) is a town in Silesia, in southern Poland, near the city of Katowice. It borders the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union, a metropolis with a population of over 2 million, and is within a greater Silesian metropolitan area populated by about 5,294,000 people. The population of the town is 40,898 (2019). Located in the Silesian Highlands, on the ''Jamna'' stream, a tributary of the Kłodnica River and indirectly the Oder. Josef Cichy
Josef Cichy ( pl, Józef Cichy)(1852–1913 in Cieszyn) was a Silesian politician. He owned a limestone furnace company in Goleszów. He was one of the first officials of the Silesian People's Party and ran as the party's candidate in an election to the Silesian Parliament in Opava, from the election district of Frysztat- Cieszyn-Jabłonków. He served as the leader of the local branch of the Silesian People's Party in Cieszyn. He was also a co-founder (in 1910) and chairman (from 1911) of the Union of Silesians. In 1911, he became the president of Head Authority of Election Committee for Józef Kożdoń, the chairman Buy and Sale Company for East Silesia. Silesian Autonomy Movement
The Silesian Autonomy Movement ( szl, Ruch Autōnōmije Ślōnska, pl, Ruch Autonomii Śląska, german: Bewegung für die Autonomie Schlesiens), abbreviated as RAŚ, is a movement officially declaring its support for the autonomy of Silesia as part of a unified Europe. The association was founded in January 1990 by Rudolf Kołodziejczyk and is based in the Polish part of Upper Silesia. RAŚ sees the Silesians as a "''separate nation''" rather than primarily as Poles, Germans or Czechs. On 17 October 2009, the Silesian Autonomy Movement signed a cooperation agreement with its German sister organisation, ''Initiative der Autonomie Schlesiens'' (IAS), based in Würzburg, and the UK-based ''Silesian Autonomy Movement''. In 2002, RAŚ became a member of the European Free Alliance. In 2007, RAŚ activists reestablished football club ''1. FC Katowice''. Theofil Kupka
Theofil Kupka (Teofil/Theophil Kupka) (born 22 August 1885 in Marklowitz/Marklowice – died 20 November 1920 in Beuthen/Bytom) was a Silesian politician. Biography Kupka's childhood was spent in Marklowitz (Marklowice), where he and his family (brothers Paul, Johann and Joseph and sister Paula) were active in the Polish-Catholic Association. He married his wife, Apolonia in Lipiny and lived with her in Beuthen. An official at a coal mine, he was put forward by Wojciech Korfanty to take over the management of the Organization Division of the Polish Plebiscite Commission in Beuthen. When Kupka became aware of its secret activities, Korfanty demanded that he change the direction and methods of plebiscite agitation. Afraid of a break, Korfanty expelled Kupka from the commission. Along with Kupka left other Silesian officials such as Cysarz, Zmuda, Gemander, Szymura, Pietruszka. This diminished Korfanty's support. Silesian People's Party
The Silesian People’s Party ( szl, Ślōnskŏ Ludowŏ Partyjŏ, pl, Śląska Partia Ludowa, cs, Slezská lidová strana, german: Schlesische Volkspartei) was a political organization in Cieszyn Silesia that existed from 1909 to 1938 in Austrian Silesia, which later became international plebiscite territory and finally part of Czechoslovakia.
