Joseph Mills (footballer)
Joseph Nathan Mills (born 30 October 1989) is a retired English footballer, who last played for League Two club Northampton Town. He mainly played as a left back but also played as a left-sided midfielder. Career Southampton Born in Swindon, England, Mills started his football career at Aston Villa's academy before opting to move to Southampton in August 2006. At Southampton, alongside his brother Matthew, he progressed through the academy and reserve sides before being promoted to the first team ahead of the 2008–09 season. He made his Southampton first team debut as substitute in a League Cup match against Birmingham City on 26 August 2008. He made his league debut at home against Barnsley on 20 September 2008. After making a handful of appearances for Southampton, on 23 February 2009, he joined Scunthorpe United on an emergency loan for one month. Joseph Trotter Mills (December 18, 1812November 22, 1897) was an American attorney, jurist, Republican politician, and Wisconsin pioneer. He served four one-year terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly, and was Wisconsin circuit court judge for the 5th circuit from 1865 through 1877. Biography Born in 1812 in Cane Ridge, Kentucky, near Paris, Joseph Trotter Mills as a youth lived and studied with his uncle Benjamin Mills, who was a judge of the Kentucky Court of Appeals. Moving west, in 1831 Mills studied at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois. He worked as a tutor in 1834 and 1835, teaching the children of Colonel Zachary Taylor, then commanding officer of Fort Crawford, Prairie du Chien, Michigan Territory. Later Mills married and had a family. He prepared to change his work by reading the law with an established firm; in 1844, he was admitted to the Wisconsin bar. Joseph Mills (birth unknown – death unknown) was an English rugby union footballer who played in the 1870s, 1880s and 1890s. He played at representative level for Lancashire (captain), and at club level for Swinton (captain). Prior to Tuesday 2 June 1896, Swinton were a rugby union club.
