Joseph McNally (brother)
Brother Joseph McNally (10 August 1923 – 27 August 2002), was an Irish people, Irish Brother (Christian), brother from the De La Salle Brothers. He was the founder of St Patrick's Arts Centre, now known as LASALLE College of the Arts, in Singapore. Early life McNally grew up in County Mayo. He began studying the arts in high school. McNally left his hometown when he was 14 to join the De La Salle Brothers. He completed his novitiate at the De La Salle Retreat in Castletown, and his scholasticate at De La Salle College, Mallow, De La Salle College in Mallow, County Cork. In 1943, after graduating from De La Salle College, McNally taught at the college, where his interest in the arts grew. He took art classes at the Mallow Technical School in the evenings while teaching in the daytime. The Singapore Art Museum (Abbreviation: SAM) is an art museum is located in the Downtown Core district of Singapore. It is the first fully dedicated contemporary visual arts museum in Singapore with one of the world’s most important public collections by local, Southeast and East Asian artists. Art Elective Programme (Singapore)
The Art Elective Program (AEP) is offered by schools in Singapore that have obtained permission from the Ministry of Education. This programme is also known as Higher Art and can also be offered as a Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (O-level) subject. Lessons for the AEP are usually conducted in a separate classroom, sometimes after regular classes. Schools that offer AEP as a subject normally have an art room, a media lab and facilities to store and use art materials.
