Joseph M. Puthussery
Joseph M. Puthussery (born at Kalloppara on 28 April 1959) is an Indian politician. He serves as senior leader of the Kerala Congress. Early life Joseph M. Puthussery was born on April 28, 1959 in Kallooppara, Pathanamthitta district of Kerala as the son of Mamman and Mariamma. He entered politics as a student through Kerala Students Congress (K.S.C), the students' wing of Kerala Congress. He served as school unit secretary, vice president, All Kerala Balajana Sakhyam, State General Secretary and President, KSC; General Secretary, Kerala Youth Front and KTUC State Committee. Kallooppara
Kallooppara is a village Near Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta district in the state of Kerala, India.It Is Part Of Thiruvalla Constituency. History of Kallooppara The land of Kallooppara was previously known by the name of "Perum Para Nadu" because of exceptionally large storage of rocks. Later, the region was known as Perumbranadu. Kallooppara was once the part of Thiruvalla taluka. With the formation of the Pathanamthitta district in 1983, a new taluka was created, and Kallooppara became a part of it. It was governed by the Royalties of the Thekkumkoor Dynasty and Edappally Thampurans (rulers). According to local tradition of Saint Thomas Christians, the four prominent Namboothiri families who were converted Christianity by St. Thomas between AD 52 and AD 72 were Kali, Kalikavu, Pakalomattom, and Sankarapuri. Kerala Congress (M) is a state-level political party in the Indian state of Kerala, currently led by chairman Jose K. Mani. It was formed by K. M. Mani in 1979, after a split from the Kerala Congress. They are part of the Left Democratic Front since October 2020. History Kerala Congress (M) was formed in 1979 after a split in Kerala Congress party. After a series of splits and mergers, Kerala Congress faction of P. J. Joseph merged with Kerala Congress(M). Pathanamthitta District
Pathanamthitta District (), is one of the 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala. The district headquarters is in the town of Pathanamthitta. There are four municipalities in Pathanamthitta: Adoor, Pandalam, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvalla. According to the 2011 Census of India, the population was 1,197,412, making it the third least populous district in Kerala (out of 14), after Wayanad and Idukki. Pathanamthitta has been declared the first polio-free district in India. The district is 10.03% urbanised. Thiruvalla, alternately spelled Tiruvalla, is a town in Kerala and the Headquarters of the Taluk of the same name located in Pathanamthitta district in the State of Kerala, India. The Left Democratic Front (LDF) is an alliance of left-wing political parties in the state of Kerala, India. It is the current ruling political alliance of Kerala, since 2016. It is one of the two major political alliances in Kerala, the other being Indian National Congress-led United Democratic Front, each of which has been in power alternately for the last four decades. LDF has won the elections to the State Legislature of Kerala in the years 1980, 1987, 1996, 2006, 2016 and had a historic re-election in 2021 where an incumbent government was re-elected for first time in 40 years.
