Joseph Lucien Bonaparte
Joseph Lucien Charles Napoléon Bonaparte, 3rd Prince of Canino and Musignano (12 February 1824 – 2 September 1865), was born in Philadelphia as the son of Charles Lucien Bonaparte and his wife (and cousin), Zénaïde Bonaparte. Upon his grandfather Joseph Bonaparte's death in 1844, Joseph Lucien inherited the estate at Point Breeze in Bordentown, New Jersey. Joseph Lucien did not keep the properties and instead put Point Breeze up to be auctioned in 1847. It was bought by businessman Thomas Richards, who was a founder of the Jackson Glass Works in Batsto, New Jersey. Joseph Lucien succeeded his father as 3rd Prince of Canino and Musignano upon his death on 29 July 1857. Following the death of Joseph Lucien at the age of 41 in Rome, his brother Lucien succeeded him as 4th Prince of Canino and Musignano. The Princes of Canino and Musignano formed the genealogically senior line of the House of Bonaparte, Bonaparte family following the death of Joseph Bonaparte in 1844. The line was succeeded by one of Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor Napoleon's younger brothers, Lucien Bonaparte. It became extinct in the male line in 1924. Lucien Bonaparte
Lucien Bonaparte, 1st Prince of Canino and Musignano (born Luciano Buonaparte; 21 May 1775 – 29 June 1840), was French politician and diplomat of the French Revolution and the Consulate. He served as Minister of the Interior from 1799 to 1800 and as the final president of the Council of Five Hundred in 1799. The third surviving son of Carlo Bonaparte and his wife Letizia Ramolino, Lucien was the younger brother of Napoleon Bonaparte. As president of the Council of Five Hundred, he was one of the participants of the Coup of 18 Brumaire that brought Napoleon to power in France. François Clary (24 February 1725 – 20 January 1794) was a wealthy Irish-French merchant and is an ancestor of many European monarchs by two of his daughters. Carlo Maria Buonaparte or Charles-Marie Bonaparte (27 March 1746 – 24 February 1785) was a Corsican lawyer and diplomat, best known as the father of Napoleon Bonaparte and grandfather of Napoleon III.
