Joseph Gomis
Joseph Gomis (born 2 July 1978) is a French former professional basketball player. Professional career Gomis started his professional career with ALM Évreux in 1996, playing there for five seasons. He spent the 2001–02 season with SLUC Nancy, winning the Korać Cup in its final edition. Between 2002 and 2010, Gomis played in Spain for Breogán, Valladolid and Unicaja Málaga. For the 2010–11 season he signed with Spirou Charleroi of Belgium. From 2011 to 2014 he played with Limoges CSP, winning the French championship in the 2013–14 season. In June 2014, he signed with JSF Nanterre for the 2014–15 season. On 27 August 2015 he retired from professional basketball. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. EuroBasket 2007
The 2007 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 2007, was the 35th FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship held by FIBA Europe, which also served as Europe qualifier for the 2008 Summer Olympics, giving a berth to the champion and runner-up teams (or to the third-placed team in case Spain should reach the final). 2006 FIBA World Championship
The 2006 FIBA World Championship was the 15th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship for men's national teams. The tournament was hosted by Japan and held from 19 August to 3 September 2006. It was co-organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Japan Basketball Association (JABBA) and the 2006 Organising Committee. For the first time since 1986, the World Championship was contested by 24 nations, eight more than in 2002. As a result, group rounds were conducted in four cities, with the knockout rounds being hosted by Saitama City. Spain won the tournament by beating Greece 70–47 in the championship final.
