Joseph Baldwin (October 31, 1827, some sources indicate October 27, 1827 – January 13, 1899) was an American educator, and called by some the "father of the normal school system". __TOC__ Early life Baldwin was born to Joseph and Isabella (née Cairns) in New Castle, Pennsylvania. His lifework has been characterized by a pair of related tensions: between religious zeal and a recognition of the need for teachers well-educated in secular subjects, and between potentially opposed emphases on technical training and the liberal arts in teacher preparation. He founded a series of educational institutions which survive into the present day, each of which still bears some mark of his influence. A story told by his sister relates that, while plowing his father's fields, upon reaching the end of each furrow, he would pick up a book, find where he last left off, read the next paragraph, put the book down, and proceed to plow the next row. Joseph Baldwin was an English professional footballer who played as an inside forward. Born in Blackburn, Lancashire, he started his career as an amateur with his hometown club Blackburn Rovers. He was signed on professional terms in the summer of 1929 by Football League Third Division North outfit Nelson. ''Code Name: Eternity'' is a Canadian science fiction series that ran for 26 episodes starting in 1999. It was later shown on the Sci Fi Channel in the United States. The plot involves an alien scientist, David Banning, who comes to Earth and assumes human form in order to perfect technology which will radically change Earth's environment to be suitable for habitation by his own species, i.e. planetary engineering. Having discovered the true nature of Banning's plans, a team of assassins is sent to take him down. Banning's forces kill most of them, but the most dangerous one, Ethaniel, escapes and teams up with a human scientist, Dr. Laura Keating, in an attempt to prevent the destruction of Earth and humanity. The series was filmed in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was cancelled after one season and ended on a cliffhanger. Eternity
Eternity, in common parlance, means infinite time that never ends (or the quality, condition or fact of being eternal). Classical philosophy, however, defines eternity as what exists outside time - as in describing supernatural beings and forces, whereas sempiternity corresponds to the infinitely temporal, non-metaphoric definitions, as recited in requiem prayers for the dead.
