Joseph Allen, DD (1770–20 March 1845) was a British clergyman. He was the son of William Allen and his wife Nelly Livesey. William Allen (d. 1792) was a partner in Manchester's first Bank, Byrom, Allen, Sedgwick and Place (founded 1771) but was made bankrupt in 1788 on the failure of the Bank. Joseph Alleine (baptised 8 April 1634 – 17 November 1668) was an English Nonconformist pastor and author of many religious works. Life Alleine belonged to a family that had originally settled in Suffolk. As early as 1430, some of the descendants of Alan, Lord of Buckenhall settled in Wiltshire around Calne and Devizes. These were the immediate ancestors of "worthy Mr Tobie Alleine of Devizes", father of Joseph, who was the fourth of a large family, born at Devizes early in 1634. His elder brother Edward, who was a clergyman, died in 1645; and Joseph entreated his father that he might be educated to succeed his brother in the ministry. In April 1649 he entered Lincoln College, Oxford, and on 3 November 1651 he became scholar of Corpus Christi College. On 6 July 1653, he took the degree of Bachelor of Divinity, and became a tutor and chaplain of Corpus Christi, preferring this to a fellowship. Joey Allen (sailor)
Joey Allen is a New Zealand sailor who competed in multiple America's Cups. Born in Te Awamutu, Allen sailed in the 1981–82 Whitbread Round the World Race on the winner, '' Flyer II''. In 1984 Allen finished second in the 470 World Championships alongside Chris Dickson. He crewed boats that won the ISAF Open Match Racing World Championship in 1988 and 1990. He sailed on ''Yamaha'' in the 1993–94 Whitbread Round the World Race. He then joined Team New Zealand and was the bowman on ''NZL 32'' when it won the 1995 America's Cup. Allen was part of Team New Zealand's successful defence at the 2000 America's Cup. He then became a coach and was with the team for their 2003 and 2007 America's Cup campaigns. Joseph Alan Cagle, known professionally as Joey Allen, is best known as the lead guitarist of the American glam metal band Warrant. Allen was born as Joseph Alan Cagle on June 23, 1964, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and grew up in Irvine, California. His father is a retired electronics executive, while his mother worked for the Irvine Unified School District. He has two older sisters. Allen played in approximately 20 bands before joining Warrant. "No Russian" is a controversial mission in the 2009 video game '' Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2'' and its remastered version, '' Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered''. In the level, the player participates in a mass shooting at a Russian airport, although the player is not forced or told by the game itself to shoot any civilians and may skip the level altogether without penalty. "No Russian" is noticeably more graphic than any other level in the game. The plot of "No Russian" revolves around Army Ranger PFC. Joseph William Allen (1803 – 29 August 1852) was an English landscape painter and art teacher, who was also active in the founding of the Society of British Artists. Life and work Allen was born in Lambeth, London, the son of a schoolmaster, and attended St Paul's School. Later, he worked for a time as an usher at a school in Taunton in Somerset. Discovering a talent for art, he returned to London, determined to become a painter. He initially found employment as an assistant to an art dealer, under whom he acquired a considerable knowledge of the old masters, and the monetary value of their works. He then became a (theatre) scene painter, in association with Charles Tomkins and Clarkson Stanfield, and painted most of the scenery during Lucia Vestris's first tenure of the Olympic Theatre in Drury Lane.
