Josef Vojtěch Hellich
Josef Vojtěch Hellich (17 April 1807 – 22 January 1880) was a Czech painter and archaeologist known mainly for religious works and historical scenes. Biography Hellich was born in Choltice. He attended the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague, where he studied with Joseph Bergler, and the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. This was followed by an extended study and work trip to Italy, Switzerland, France and England. He returned to Prague in 1840 and established a successful studio. With a recommendation from František Palacký, he became involved in the activities of the National Museum (Prague), National Museum; becoming custodian and documentarian for the new archaeological collections. In the following years, he gathered items for the museum from Kouřim, Žatec, Tábor and České Budějovice; including ornaments from prehistoric burial sites. Friedrich Prince zu Schwarzenberg, or in Czech Bedřich prince ze Schwarzenberg (April 6, 1809 in Vienna, Austria – March 27, 1885 in Vienna, Austria) was a Catholic Cardinal of the nineteenth century in Austria and the Kingdom of Bohemia and a member of the House of Schwarzenberg. Biography He was the youngest child of John Joseph, Prince of Schwarzenberg and of his wife Pauline d'Arenberg and brother to Austrian Prime Minister Felix, Prince of Schwarzenberg. He was christened as Friedrich Johann Joseph Cölestin. After his mother was incinerated during a ball given in Paris in celebration of Napoleon's marriage to Marie Louise of Austria, he was placed under the care of Father Lorenz Greif and soon devoted himself to studying for the priesthood. __NOTOC__ ''Světozor'' ("Seeing the World") was a Czech-language illustrated magazine published in 19th and 20th century. History and profile ''Světozor'' was created by Pavel Josef Šafařík in 1834. Šafařík was inspired by the British penny press and the German '' Pfennig-Magazin''. The newspaper, trying to entertain the readers with curiosities, did not incite much interest and closed down in two years. In 1867 the magazine was reestablished by František Skrejšovský (1837–1902), an entrepreneur and politician. A substantial portion of the weekly was dedicated to the literature and the arts. Since 1899 for more than 30 years the magazine was owned by the publishing house of Jan Otto. Between 1933–1939 the magazine was owned by leftist journalist and photographer Pavel Altschul (1900–1944).
