Vice Admiral The Hon. Josceline Percy (29 January 1784 – 19 October 1856) was a Royal Navy officer and politician who went on to be Commander-in-Chief, The Nore. Family Josceline was the fourth son of Algernon Percy, second Baron Lovaine of Alnwick (1750–1830) and his wife Isabella Susannah Burrell. Through his father he was the grandson of Hugh Percy, first duke of Northumberland, and through his mother the grandson of Peter Burrell of Beckenham, Kent. His maternal uncle was Peter, first Baron Gwydyr, and Henry Percy (1785–1825) and William Henry Percy (1788–1855, another naval officer) were his younger brothers. Lord Josceline William Percy (17 July 1811 – 25 July 1881) was a British Conservative politician. Background and education Percy was the second son of George Percy, 5th Duke of Northumberland by his wife Louisa, daughter of the Hon. James Stuart-Wortley. Algernon Percy, 6th Duke of Northumberland was his elder brother and Lord Henry Percy his younger brother. After his father succeeded in the dukedom of Northumberland in 1865 he was styled Lord Josceline Percy. He was educated at Eton and St John's College, Cambridge, graduating MA in 1833. Political career Percy was elected Member of Parliament for Launceston in the 1852 general election, a seat he held until 1859. Josceline George Herbert Amherst (7 June 1846 – 1 February 1900) was a member of the first Western Australian Legislative Council under responsible government. He also played first-class cricket. Biography Josceline Amherst was born in Westminster in London on 7 June 1846, the fifth son of William Pitt Amherst, 2nd Earl Amherst. He was educated at Eton College, matriculation, matriculated to Christ Church, Oxford but did not graduate. He became a barrister of the Inner Temple in 1874. As a cricketer he played his games for Marylebone Cricket Club and the Gentlemen of Kent. His highest score of 7 came when playing for Marylebone Cricket Club in the match against Hampshire County Cricket Club. Josceline Fitzroy Bagot (22 October 1854 – 1 March 1913) was an English British Army officer and Conservative politician. Early life Josceline Fitzroy Bagot was born in Ashtead, Surrey, the son of Col. Charles Bagot and Sophia Louisa Percy. Military career He joined the Army and received a commission in the Grenadier Guards in 1875 and was appointed Aide-de-Camp to the Governor-General of Canada in 1881–1882 and 1888–1889. He also saw service in the Boer War in 1899–1900, where he was mentioned in despatches and was the chief Military Censor. His wife was also in South Africa during the war, running a military hospital. He was later attached to the Westmoreland and Cumberland Imperial Yeomanry, where he was granted the honorary rank of lieutenant-colonel on 7 May 1902.
