Jos Dupré
Jozef "Jos" Dupré (8 July 1928 – 2 December 2021) was a Belgian politician. A member of the Christian Social Party, he served in the Chamber of Representatives from 1974 to 1996, while serving as President briefly in June 1995. In many countries, a mayor is the highest-ranking official in a municipal government such as that of a city or a town. Worldwide, there is a wide variance in local laws and customs regarding the powers and responsibilities of a mayor as well as the means by which a mayor is elected or otherwise mandated. It is now part of DPG Media, and is the most popular newspaper in Flanders and Belgium. History and profile The liberal Julius Hoste Sr. founded the newspaper on 7 June 1888 five days before the Belgian elections. With his newspaper he wanted to support the Liberal Party in the upcoming elections and on the other side the Flemish movement in Brussels, a city which was dominated by francophone bourgeois (''Franskiljons''). Langendries (born 1 October 1943 in Tubize) is a Belgian politician and Member of the European Parliament for the French Community of Belgium with the Centre Démocrate Humaniste, part of the European People's Party and sits on the European Parliament's Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. He is a substitute for the Committee on Development, a member of the Delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly and a substitute for the Delegation for relations with the People's Republic of China.
