Jorun Marie Kvernberg
Jorun Marie Rypdal Kvernberg (born 10 July 1979) is a Norwegian traditional musician ( hardingfele, violin, vocals) and composer, known from a series of recordings. She is the daughter of traditional musicians Liv Rypdal Kvernberg and Torbjørn Kvernberg, and the sister of classical musician Kari Kvernberg Dajani and jazz violinist Ola Kvernberg, and granddaughter of the fiddler and traditional music composer Peter L. Rypdal. Career Kvernberg was born in Fræna, Romsdal, and studied traditional music at Norges Musikkhøgskole from 1999 to 2003. She also has practical pedagogical education from the same institution. She works as a freelance traditional fiddler, and released her first solo album, "Album" (2006) on the label ta:lik. As a soloist Kvernberg is focused on the folk music from Møre og Romsdal, and she has since 2000 played in the bands Tindra and Majorstuen. Fræna
Fræna is a former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It was part of the region of Romsdal. The municipality was located on the Romsdal peninsula surrounding the Frænfjorden, the eastern shore of the Julsundet strait, and includes most of the Hustadvika area. It also included the now-abandoned Bjørnsund islands. The main village and administrative centre in Fræna was Elnesvågen with over 2,300 inhabitants. Moxy Engineering, Hustad Marmor, and Tine Meierier are all factories located in Elnesvågen. Other villages in Fræna included Hustad, Bud, Tornes, Sylte, Malme, and Aureosen. Gabriel Fliflet (born 18 July 1958 in Åland, Finland) is a Norwegian accordion player and vocalist, known for his multicultural musical expressions and numerous recordings. He is the brother of bass player and sagspiller Andreas Fliflet, and the son of Albert Lange Fliflet (b. 1908), who have done the achievement of translating the Finnish national epic ''Kalevala'' a New Norwegian which is close to the language of Western Telemark. Jon Anders Halvorsen (born 1968 in Lunde, Norway) is a Norwegian folk singer and physician. Career Halvorsen is a graduate of the Ole Bull Academy at Voss (1998–2000) and won the prize for best vocal performer at Landskappleiken in 2002. Halvorsen is a connoisseur of the "kvede" tradition in Telemark. He collaborated with guitarist Tore Bruvoll as the character of Prins Sveinung (Tamino) in the folk music production of the opera The Magic Flute (2005–2006), by Rikskonsertene and quinces group Dvergmål. Halvorsen and Bruvoll were awarded the Folkelarmpris in 2007, in the class Innovative/Experimental. In 2012 he was nominated for the Folkelarmpris for the album ''Komme No Heim''. Tore Bruvoll (born 30 October 1978 in Tromsø) is a Norwegian musician (guitar and multi-instrumentalist), composer and music arranger. Career Bruvoll was educated at Telemark University College (1997–1999), and is best known from the group Hekla Stålstrenga who have released two albums. He has also had great success with two otherprojects: "Den Store Norske Gitarkvartett" and the duo cooperation Bruvoll/Halvorsen together with the kveder Jon Anders Halvorsen. Bruvoll has collaborated with many other artists in traditional folk like Annbjørg Lien and String Sisters. Bruvoll has since the late 1990s worked closely with Ragnhild Furebotten, which has resulted in the founding of the band Hekla Stålstrenga, including two nominations for the Spellemannprisen and extensive touring in Norway as well as internationally. Finn Bjørn Kalvik (born 30 April 1947) is a Norwegian singer and composer. Early career He was born in Fåvang, but his family moved to the working class district of Grorud, Oslo in 1952. Early in his career Kalvik found success putting music to the poetry of popular Norwegian writers André Bjerke and Inger Hagerup. He made his breakthrough in 1969 with the song ''Finne meg sjæl'', and he also had major hits in 1971 with ''En tur rundt i byen'' (based on Ralph McTell's '' Streets Of London'') and in 1975 with ''Ride ranke'' (based on Harry Chapin's ''Cat's in the Cradle'').
