''Jorkens Remembers Africa'' is a collection of Fantasy fiction, fantasy short stories, narrated by Mr. Joseph Jorkens, by writer Edward Plunkett, 18th Baron Dunsany, Lord Dunsany. It was first published in New York City by Longmans, Green & Co. in October, 1934 in literature, 1934, with the English edition (under the alternate title ''Mr. Jorkens Remembers Africa'') following in November of the same year from the same publisher. It was the second collection of Dunsany's Jorkens tales to be published. It has also been issued in combination with the first book, ''The Travel Tales of Mr. Joseph Jorkens'', in the omnibus edition ''The Collected Jorkens, Volume One'', published by Night Shade Books in 2004. The book collects twenty-one short pieces by Dunsany. Edward Plunkett, 18th Baron Dunsany
Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron of Dunsany (; 24 July 1878 – 25 October 1957, usually Lord Dunsany) was an Anglo-Irish writer and dramatist. Over 90 volumes of fiction, essays, poems and plays appeared in his lifetime.Lanham, Maryland, USA, 1993: Rowman & Littlefield; Joshi, S.T. and Schweitzer, Darrell; Lord Dunsany: A Comprehensive Bibliography (Studies in Supernatural Literature series). Joseph Jorkens (usually referred to simply as Jorkens) is the lead character in over 150 short stories written between 1925 and 1957 by the Irish author Lord Dunsany, noted for his fantasy short stories, fantastic plays, novels and other writings. ''The Collected Jorkens'' is a three-volume omnibus collection of fantasy short stories by author Lord Dunsany and issued by Night Shade Books, then of Portland, Oregon. Jorkens The Jorkens stories are "told" in the setting of a London gentleman's or adventurers' club of which the title character and the narrator are members, and usually open with another member mentioning an interesting experience he has had; this rouses Jorkens, who in return for a whisky-and-soda goes the other member one better with an extraordinary tall tale, supposedly from his own past.
