Jorge Sutherland
Jorge Sutherland (1825 – July 2, 1909) was the leader of the Venezuelan state of Zulia. He was an associate of Venezuelan president Juan Crisóstomo Falcón. He was born in 1825. He died in Maracaibo July 2, 1900. This is a list of presidents and governors of the Venezuelan Zulia State. In some years the head of Zulia state was known as ''President'' or ''Civil and Military Chief'', in others ''Governor''. In 1881 Zulia was joined in a union with Falcón. Its autonomy was restored in 1890 with Maracaibo as its capital. Zulia
Zulia State ( es, Estado Zulia, ; Wayuu: ''Mma’ipakat Suuria'') is one of the 23 states of Venezuela. The state capital is Maracaibo. As of the 2011 census, it has a population of 3,704,404, the largest population among Venezuela's states. It is also one of the few states (if not the only one) in Venezuela in which voseo (the use of ''vos'' as a second person singular pronoun) is widespread. The state is coterminous with the eponymous region of Zulia. Zulia State is in northwestern Venezuela, bordering Lake Maracaibo, the largest body of water of its kind in Latin America. Juan Crisóstomo Falcón
Juan Crisóstomo Falcón Zavarce (27 January 1820 – 29 April 1870) was the president of Venezuela from 1863 to 1868.Biography (Spanish) Member of the liberal Venezuelan Federalist Party, he first served as president of Venezuela as the supreme chief of a rebel movement in August 1859, but the rebellion was soon crushed.
