Jorge Soares da Silva (born 13 January 1972) is a Portuguese former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Football career Born in Lamego, Viseu District, Silva emerged through FC Porto's youth system, but could never be more than third choice with its first team. In the 1995–96 season he was part of the Primeira Liga-winning squad by playing four minutes in one game, and previously made his professional debut at Rio Ave FC. Silva spent the better part of his career with two modest clubs in the top flight, S.C. Salgueiros – who had previously loaned him to Porto – and C.D. Santa Clara, reaching the Portugal national team for his only cap on 15 November 2000, where he featured one minute in a friendly with Israel after coming on as a substitute for Quim. Lamego (; cel-x-proto, Lamecum) is a city and municipality in the Viseu District, in the Norte Region, Portugal, Norte Region of the Douro Subregion, Douro in northern Portugal. The 2009–10 Liga de Honra season (also known as Liga Vitalis due to sponsorship reasons) is the 20th season of the second-tier football in Portugal. It began on 13 August 2009 and will end on 9 May 2010. Olhanense are the defending champions. Teams Trofense were relegated to the Liga de Honra after finishing 16th and last in the Portuguese Liga 2008–09 season. Trofense were to be accompanied by Belenenses, who finished in 15th place. Belenenses were ending a ten-year stretch in the Portuguese top-level league, while Trofense returned to the Liga da Honra after just one year in the top flight. The Liga Portugal 2 (), also known as Liga Portugal 2 SABSEG for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest division of the Portuguese football league system. At the end of each season, the two top-finishing teams are promoted to the top-tier Primeira Liga and the two lowest-ranked teams are relegated to the third-tier league. ''Record'' is a Portuguese sports newspaper, founded by Manuel Dias, published in Lisbon. Although it covers most sports, football is the focal point of it, and almost always is the only sport referred to on the cover. History and profile ''Record'' was founded by Manuel Dias.
