Jordan Mancino
Jordan Mancino (born May 22, 1983) is an American drummer. He has played with several metal acts as the official or as a live member, including As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, and Wovenwar. Mancino, alongside the rest of AILD, have stated that the band may consist of Christians but their music is not just for Christians. Background Jordan Mancino started his musical career with the band Edge of Mortality which played shows with Born Blind and Cast in Stone, one member went on to join Bleeding Through. He later met his longtime friend Tim Lambesis. The duo were in several acts together including Point of Recognition. The two friends left that band and then formed As I Lay Dying. The two formed the band and released six albums, as well as a compilation of cover songs. In 2009, Mancino joined the supergroup Souls of We. Wovenwar
Wovenwar is an American metal band from Southern California, formed in 2013. They released their self-titled debut album in 2014. The band's musical style on the album has been described as hard rock, alternative metal, melodic metalcore and modern heavy metal. History In May 2013, As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was arrested for soliciting the murder of his wife. The remaining members soon began experimenting and writing with vocalist Shane Blay of Oh, Sleeper. Lambesis' arrest negatively affected his relationships with As I Lay Dying, which resulted in the departure of all members except for Jordan Mancino, who had been sharing an ownership for the band's rights with Lambesis since 2006. After a short meeting, they decided to put discussions of the future of As I Lay Dying on hold. Tim Lambesis
Timothy Peter Lambesis (born November 21, 1980) is an American musician and producer, best known as the founding member and lead vocalist of American metalcore band As I Lay Dying. He also had a solo/side thrash metal project in tribute to actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Austrian Death Machine, in which he performed all the instruments. He also formed a death metal band called Pyrithion and played guitar for Society's Finest and Point of Recognition. Lambesis was arrested in 2013 after attempting to hire an undercover police officer to murder his wife. He pled guilty in 2014 and was sentenced to serve six years in prison. Lambesis was released on parole in December 2016. Lambesis was a judge for the 8th and 10th annual Independent Music Awards to support independent artists' careers. ''Frail Words Collapse'' is the second studio album by American metalcore band As I Lay Dying. The album is their first release on the record label Metal Blade Records. Only two of the four current band-members (drummer Jordan Mancino and frontman Tim Lambesis) appeared on the album. This is also the last album to feature Evan White before his departure from the band shortly after the album's release. Two of the band's signature songs, "94 Hours" and "Forever", appear on the album. Music videos have been produced for the songs "94 Hours" and "Forever". The album has sold 250,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album gets its name from a lyric of one of the songs on it, "Falling upon Deaf Ears". ''Beneath the Encasing of Ashes'' is the debut studio album by American metalcore band As I Lay Dying. Many reviewers and also casual listeners compared the overall sound of this album to Zao. It is widely thought that the band found its own sound on later albums, ''Frail Words Collapse'' and '' Shadows Are Security''. All the songs on ''Beneath the Encasing of Ashes'' appear on the compilation album '' A Long March: The First Recordings''. Oh, Sleeper is an American metalcore band from Fort Worth, Texas that formed in 2006 with former members of Terminal. In over a decade's span, Oh, Sleeper has released four full-length albums, two EPs, and toured worldwide as an opening act. Shane Blay is an American guitarist and vocalist that performs primarily metalcore. He has performed with bands such as Oh, Sleeper, Between the Buried and Me, and Wovenwar. Background Blay started his musical career in the late 1990s/early 2000s, with the band Evelynn. The band released a split EP before hiring on Nick Hipa. Blay knew Hipa since the age of 15. The band was signed to Pluto Records. The band disbanded in 2004 and the members went on their separate ways. Blay alongside Micah Kinard, James Erwin, Lucas Starr, and Ryan Conley formed the band Oh, Sleeper. Josh Gilbert (born March 17, 1981) is an American bassist, vocalist, songwriter and producer, who performs primarily metalcore. He has played with several acts, including As I Lay Dying and Wovenwar. He is also a contributor to ''Alternative Press''. He currently plays bass as a touring member of Spiritbox. Career Gilbert's musical career began with his first band Mothra in Birmingham, Alabama. Shortly after, they changed their name to This Endearing, and sent a demo to Tim Lambesis, frontman of As I Lay Dying. This Endearing disbanded in 2006 and Gilbert went on to join As I Lay Dying. Samuel Nicholas Hipa (born November 30, 1982) is an American heavy metal guitarist. He has performed with several notable acts. He is the current lead guitarist of Mire, and was the longtime former lead guitarist of As I Lay Dying. Background Hipa started his musical career with the band Evelynn. The band was signed to Pluto Records. In 2001, Evelynn toured with As I Lay Dying. As Evelynn started to disperse, Hipa joined As I Lay Dying in 2003.
