Jordan Jones (Australian Footballer)
Jordan Jones (born 29 June 1990) is an Australian rules footballer previously listed with the Williamstown Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) for season 2017-2018 and also previously listed with West Perth Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) from 2012-2016. He previously played for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). Jones was selected at pick 52 in the 2008 AFL Draft with West Coast's 4th round selection. He made his debut for the Eagles at the end of the 2010 season, playing two games, before being de-listed at the end of the 2011 season. Junior football Jones moved from his home in Melbourne to Ocean Grove in 2000. Jones played his junior football for the Ocean Grove/Collendina Cobras and Ocean Grove Football Club. Ocean Grove Football Club
The Ocean Grove Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Grubbers'', is an Australian rules football and netball club that plays in the Bellarine Football League (BFL) and situated in the town of Ocean Grove, Victoria. History The club started off in the 1960s as a joint club between Barwon Heads and Ocean Grove. The Barwon Heads/Ocean Grove Football Club wore purple jumpers with gold trim and were, and still are known as the "Grubbers". Ray Menzies was a founding member of the club and also the Bellarine Football League; the nearby Ray Menzies Memorial Reserve was named in his honour. Years later, the club broke into the Barwon Heads Football Club and the Ocean Grove Football and Netball Club. The newly established club wore white jumpers with a red V, similar to the old South Melbourne jumpers. The Peel Thunder Football Club is an Australian rules football club playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). The team is based in Mandurah, Western Australia, with their home ground being Rushton Park. The club joined the WAFL as an expansion team in 1997. Since 2014 Peel have been in a formal alignment with the Fremantle Dockers of the Australian Football League, an arrangement which sees Fremantle's reserve players play for Peel. Jason McCartney (footballer)
Jason McCartney (born 14 March 1974) is a former Australian rules footballer, 2002 Bali bombing survivor, former coach of the AIS/AFL Academy, and former list manager at the Western Bulldogs. McCartney is currently the list manager at the Greater Western Sydney Giants. AFL career McCartney began his career at the Collingwood Football Club amid a huge reputation from his junior football days. He could play at either end of the ground as a key-position forward or backman. Michael Turner (Australian Rules Footballer)
Michael Turner (born 6 December 1954) is a former Australian rules footballer who played 245 games for the Geelong Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) from 1974 to 1988. Michael "Micky" Turner grew up in Warrnambool and did his final years of high school at Monivae College in Hamilton. He followed in the footsteps of his father Leo Turner (1928-1997) in representing Geelong and played as a wingman and half forward. He was an All-Australian in 1979 and captained the club for three seasons between 1984 and 1986. In 1982 he was Geelong's leading goalkicker with 40 goals. In 1989, Turner signed on as captain-coach of Werribee in the Victorian Football Association. 2008 AFL Under 18 Championships
The 2008 AFL Under 18 Championships is the 2008 series of the AFL Under 18 Championships, a state and territory based Australian rules football competition which showcase the best junior footballers in Australia, primarily with the aim for them to be drafted into the Australian Football League. The competition is split into two divisions. The major football states of Victoria (split into separate Country and Metropolitan teams), South Australia and Western Australia are in Division 1, with the smaller football states of Northern Territory, NSW/ACT, Tasmania and Queensland are in Division 2. Unlike previous years, in 2008 the top two teams from the Division 2 competition advanced to be part of Division 1.
