The Jordan Football Association ( ar, الاتحاد الأردني لكرة القدم) is the governing body for association football, football in Jordan. The JFA was awarded best association of the AFC in 2013. History Tournaments Jordan is known to be the Dark Horse of Asian Football, They were one play-off away from reaching the 2014 FIFA World Cup, they lost to Uruguay in a two-legged play-off. The most recent tournament they played was the 2019 AFC Asian Cup where they lost to Vietnam on Penalties in the Round of 16. The farthest Jordan got in the AFC Asian Cup was in 2004 and 2011, reaching the quarter-finals both times as they were paired with Asian Powerhouses such as Japan & South Korea, however, as an underdog they exceeded expectations and made it past the group stages. In 2015 they lost in the group stage for the first and only time. Jordan has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup and the first AFC Asian Cup they played in was in 2004. The Asian Football Confederation is the governing body of association football, beach soccer, and futsal in some countries/territories in Asia and Oceania. It has 47 member countries most of which are located in Asia. Australia, formerly in Oceania Football Confederation, OFC, joined AFC in 2006. Samar Nassar (born 16 February 1978) is a swimmer from Jordan. She was born in Lebanon, and competed for Palestine at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and for Jordan at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Jordan League
The Jordanian Pro League ( ar, الدوري الأردني للمحترفين) is a Jordanian professional league for men's football clubs and represents the top flight of Jordanian football. The championship consists of twelve competing teams in a home and away league system. The league not held in the years : 1948, 1953, 1957, 1958, 1967, 1968, 1969, and not finished in the 1998 in 2002 the league change calendar to a fall spring season. Jørn Larsen (15 December 1926 – 13 June 2004) was a Danish painter and sculptor. He was a member of ''Grønningen'' from 1970 and received the Eckersberg Medal in 1978 and the Thorvaldsen Medal in 1989. He represented Denmark at the Venice Biennale in 1993. Biography Jørn Larsen was born in Næstved in 1926. He first apprenticed as a house painter in his home town but in 1948 moved to Copenhagen where he attended drawing classes. He was admitted to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1951 but left after completing just one semester to go to Italy. Over the next couple of years he travelled abundantly in Europe, spending his time mainly in France, Spain, Greece and Turkey. In 1955 he made his first non-figurative pictures and had his debut with them at the Kunstnernes Efterårsudstilling (autumn exhibition) in Copenhagen.
