Jordan Brickner
Jordan Brickner Gragnano (born October 3, 1990) is an American ice hockey player. She most recently played with the Connecticut Whale in the 2019–20 season of the Premier Hockey Federation (formerly the NWHL). In 2020, she was honored with the NWHL Foundation Award. Career Growing up, Brickner played on both boys' and girls' teams until she reached high school. She then attended the Hotchkiss School in Connecticut, where she played for the school's varsity girls' hockey team, serving as the team's co-captain in her senior year. During high school, she also played for the Connecticut Stars of the Connecticut Hockey Conference. In 2009, she began studying at Colgate University, where she played for the Raiders women's ice hockey programme. In 2011, she transferred to the University of Wisconsin and played her final two years of college eligibility with the Badgers women's ice hockey program. Lake Forest is a city located in Lake County, Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 19,367. The city is along the shore of Lake Michigan, and is a part of the Chicago metropolitan area and the North Shore. Dani Rylan
Dani Rylan Kearney (born August 5, 1987) is an American entrepreneur and former ice hockey player. She is the founder and former commissioner of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL), the first professional women's hockey league in the United States, and the first professional women's hockey league ever to pay its players in North America. Prior to launching the league in March 2015, Rylan attempted to bring a CWHL expansion team to New York in 2014. She previously played with the Northeastern Huskies women's ice hockey program in NCAA play and was a captain in her final season. Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone). 2020–21 NWHL Season
The 2020–21 NWHL season was the sixth season of the National Women's Hockey League in North America. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the season was held in a bubble in Lake Placid, New York, from January to February 2021, with all five teams returning from the previous season, along with the Toronto Six expansion team as the first Canada-based team to play in the league. The season was suspended again due to positive cases of COVID-19 within the bubble. On March 8, 2021, the league announced that the Isobel Cup playoffs would re-commence on March 26 and 27 at Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton, Massachusetts.
