Jong Hyun-Wook
Jong Hyun-Wook (; born December 2, 1978, in Goryeong, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea), nicknamed "Slave Jong ()", is a former South Korean relief pitcher in the KBO League. Amateur career Jong attended Dongdaemoon Commerce High School in Seoul, South Korea. In 1995, he was selected to the South Korea national junior team, and participated in the 1995 World Junior Baseball Championship in Boston, United States, along with future Major League pitchers Kim Sun-Woo, Seo Jae-Weong and Kim Byung-Hyun. Long Reliever
A long reliever or long-relief pitcher is a relief pitcher in baseball who enters the game if the starting pitcher leaves the game early. Long relievers often enter in the first three innings of a game when the starting pitcher cannot continue, whether due to ineffective pitching, lack of endurance, rain delays, injury, or ejection. The hope is that the long reliever will be able to get the game under control, and hopefully his team's offense will be able to help get the team back into the game. The hope is also that the long reliever will pitch long enough to save other relievers in the bullpen from having to pitch. The South Korean national baseball team ( ko, 대한민국 야구 국가대표팀) is the national baseball team of South Korea. It won the Baseball World Cup in 1982, and participated in the Summer Olympic Games of 1984, 1988, 1996, and 2000. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, it won the gold medal in a final victory against Cuba. Hold (baseball)
A hold (abbreviated HLD, H or HD) is awarded to a relief pitcher who meets the following three conditions: :1. Byung-hyun Kim (; or ; born January 19, 1979) is a South Korean former professional baseball pitcher. He had his most successful years with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Boston Red Sox. Kim is remembered for his role in the 2001 World Series, in which he gave up consecutive ninth-inning leads in both Game 4 and Game 5, taking the loss in Game 4, though the Diamondbacks rebounded to win the Championship in 7 games over the New York Yankees. Sun-woo "Sunny" Kim (Korean: 김선우, Hanja: 金善宇, ; born September 4, 1977) is a retired South Korean professional baseball pitcher of the Korea Baseball Organization.
