Jones Standards
Jones Standards was a short-lived 24-hour music format that was produced by Jones Radio Networks. Its playlist is composed of mostly adult standards from artists such as Frank Sinatra, Barry Manilow, Johnny Mathis, Rod Stewart and a dozen more artists. Jones Standards was only on the air for eight months: it was launched January 19, 2008 when the network abandoned the franchise rights to Music of Your Life after a dispute with some of its key personnel. It went off the air September 30 of the same year, as Jones Radio Networks was sold off to Triton Media Group's Dial Global division, which will replace the network with America's Best Music, an older, more established adult standards network that dates to the 1980s. Any and all affiliates such as WMBG in Williamsburg, Virginia will be switching over to "America's Best Music" or either of its competitors listed below. America's Best Music
America's Best Music is the on-air branding of a soft oldies and adult standards 24-hour radio network, formerly known as AM Only. The service is syndicated by Westwood One, a subsidiary of Cumulus Media. It was one of the original Transtar Radio Networks formats. Despite its old name of AM Only, "America's Best Music" is no longer exclusive to AM stations and is carried on some FM stations. Its main competitor is ''Music of Your Life'', syndicated by Planet Halo, Inc. Until 2010, '' Timeless'' from Citadel/ ABC Radio had been another similar format. Cumulus Media Networks was an American radio network owned and operated by Cumulus Media. From 2011 until its merger with Westwood One, it controlled many of the radio assets formerly belonging to the American Broadcasting Company (ABC), which was broken up in 2007; Cumulus owned the portion of the network that was purchased by Citadel Broadcasting that year. Timeless was a 24-hour satellite music service of Citadel Media (through Citadel Broadcasting). It has distributed a mix of soft oldies and adult standards to radio stations around the United States. It was a combination of two former formats: gold-based adult contemporary Unforgettable Favorites (also known as "Memories") and adult standards Timeless Classics/Timeless Favorites (originally known as "Stardust"). Westwood One is an American radio network owned by Cumulus Media. The company syndicates talk, music, and sports programming. The company takes its name from an earlier network also named Westwood One, a company founded in 1978.
