Jones Angell
Monrovie Jones Angell IV (born 1979, Sanford, North Carolina), known professionally as Jones Angell, is the current “Voice of the Tar Heels,” the play-by-play radio announcer for the North Carolina Tar Heels football and men’s basketball programs. Early life Angell spent most of his childhood in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He grew up listening to Woody Durham and Mick Mixon calling Tar Heel football and basketball games on the radio with his family. Growing up, Angell wanted to do NCAA Division I play-by-play announcing, against the objections of his mother. While a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Angell enrolled in what was then known as the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. ''The Daily Tar Heel'' (''DTH'') is the independent student newspaper of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It was founded on February 23, 1893, and became a daily newspaper in 1929. The paper places a focus on university news and sports, but it also includes heavy coverage of Orange County and North Carolina. In 2016, the paper moved from five days a week in print to four, cutting the Tuesday edition. In 2017, the paper began to print on only Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. All editorial content is overseen by student editors and a volunteer student staff of about 230 people. It is the largest news organization in Orange County. The NC State Wolfpack football team represents North Carolina State University in the sport of American football. The Wolfpack competes in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Atlantic Coast Conference#Divisions, Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Giovani Govan Bernard (born November 22, 1991) is an American football running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at North Carolina, and was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. 2012 North Carolina Tar Heels Football Team
The 2012 North Carolina Tar Heels football team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a member of Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) during the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was led by first-year head coach Larry Fedora and played their home games at Kenan Memorial Stadium. The Tar Heels finished the season 8–4 overall and 5–3 in ACC play to tie for first in the Coastal Division with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Miami Hurricanes. The 2011 NCAA Division I baseball tournament began on Friday, June 3, 2011 as part of the 2011 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Dean E. Smith Student Activities Center (commonly known as the Dean Smith Center, Smith Center, or the Dean Dome) is a multi-purpose arena in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, used primarily as the home for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Tar Heels men's basketball team. Kenan Memorial Stadium is a stadium located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and is the home field of the North Carolina Tar Heels. It is primarily used for football. The stadium opened in 1927 and holds 50,500 people. It is located near the center of campus at the University of North Carolina.
