Jonathon Mincy
Jonathon Tyrone Mincy (born September 5, 1992) is an American football cornerback for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was signed by the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent after the 2015 NFL Draft. He played college football at Auburn. He has also been a member of the Montreal Alouettes and the Chicago Bears. Professional career Atlanta Falcons On May 5, 2015, Mincy was signed by the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent after the 2015 NFL Draft. On August 31, he was waived. Montreal Alouettes On June 20, 2016, Mincy was signed to the Montreal Alouettes' practice roster. He made the active roster and finished his rookie season in the CFL with 54 tackles, an interception, and two forced fumbles. The next season, he recorded 54 tackles and two interceptions. Cornerback
A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties. The cornerback position requires speed, agility, strength, and the ability to make rapid sharp turns.
