Jonathan Routledge
Jonathan Joseph Routledge (born 23 November 1989) is an English professional footballer who plays for The New Saints. Career Born in Liverpool, Routledge started his career in the Academy of hometown club Liverpool, but left after 10 years to join Wigan Athletic in 2007. He signed a professional contract with Wigan in the summer of 2008, and he impressed enough to sign on for a further year in 2009. He made his first team debut on 24 May 2009 in a Premier League match against Portsmouth. He joined Östersund of the Swedish football Division 1 on loan until the end of the 2009–10 season on 1 April 2010. On 12 August 2010, he joined Scottish Premier League side Hamilton Academical on loan until January 2011. On 1 February 2011, Routledge signed a permanent deal with Hamilton until the end of the season after having his contract cancelled by Wigan. 2016–17 Welsh League Cup
The 2016–17 Welsh League Cup (known for sponsorship purposes as The Nathaniel MG Cup) was the 25th season of the Welsh Premier League's cup competition, which was established in 1992. Played under a regionalised, knock-out format, the 2016–17 competition was the third to be held since the tournament was expanded to include clubs from outside the Welsh Premier League. As well as the 12 Welsh Premier League clubs from the previous season, the top five qualifying clubs from the northern and southern feeder leagues would enter the tournament, along with a number of wildcard entrants. The New Saints reached their ninth final and won the match 4–0, retaining the trophy and securing their eighth title. The Cymru Premier League Cup, currently known as the Nathaniel MG Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a cup competition in Welsh football organised by the Cymru Premier. The competition was established in 1992 and is considered to be the second-most important domestic cup competition for Welsh football clubs, after the older and more prestigious Welsh Cup. Unlike the Welsh Cup, where 135 teams entered in 2008–09, the competition is only open to the members of the Cymru Premier, the Cymru North, Cymru South and a very select few other clubs. The 2016–17 Welsh Premier League (known as the Dafabet Welsh Premier League for sponsorship reasons) was the 25th season of the Welsh Premier League, the highest football league within Wales since its establishment in 1992.
